Re: Where is Mata going in January?
The Franchise wrote:I dont intend to be too controversial, but I dont see Oscar as anywhere near the level of Mata.
If we are talking work rate and defensive skills which mean he can play in different styles/positions, then sure I get Oscar's value in comparison to Mata.
But overall, I dont see it at all. Oscar is a good player, but I dont see the special player (right now) people seem to talk about.
Very often when I have watched Chelsea I barely see him in terms of moments with the ball. Its almost as if he can go an hour of doing next to nothing but the usual, receive a pass and play it out wide or back to keep possession, but nothing extraordinary in terms of skill or creativity.
For a striker, I understand it, sometimes thats how the game goes, you can only make the easy play and wait for your chance to come. But as a number 10, I would expect a little more initiative. I really do not see the Socrates comparisons stylistically.
Not exactly on topic, but it is Oscar who seems preferred to him at the moment.

Perhaps he'll surprised us all and come play for a team in Australia.
More realistic and understandable than this thread.

Why does Mou always feel the need to ostracize very good players?

Re: Where is Mata going in January?
Im surprised by the comparisons between Mata and Oscar. Surely Oscar has proved already he is class. If any difference its small. They are both very good I think.
I just hope Mata if he goes doesnt go to a league where we dont get to see him much, he deserves to be in a top league~

You're so obsessed with Chelsea, mate. You need to come out and say if you're a closet fan or not. I haven't seen you post about anything but Chelsea on here(albeit always negative).

Chelsea have been at their best this season with Mata on the bench.

Re: Where is Mata going in January?
You can make that argument, but then how does anyone expect Mata to somehow be on last season's form when he's getting half games here and there for someone who's just recovering from a thigh injury? He'd need consistent playing time, no?

Re: Where is Mata going in January?
Mata can't effectively play on the wing especially the right ffs. he'll be useless for us.ExtremistEnigma wrote:Neymar - Messi - Mata?

Re: Where is Mata going in January?
He won't defend for you, but Mata CAN play effectively on the wing. Not like its going to happen for you, anyway.

Re: Where is Mata going in January?
But he'd only get that consistent time if you bench your best attacking player on form.Blue Barrett wrote:You can make that argument, but then how does anyone expect Mata to somehow be on last season's form when he's getting half games here and there for someone who's just recovering from a thigh injury? Would YOU take that gamble?

Re: Where is Mata going in January?
Then that makes no sense because you don't have to bench Hazard to play Mata.

You don't have to bench Oscar to play Mata either(hello? Where were you last season?)
And no, Oscar is NOT our best attacking player on form.

Yes you do. Neither works on the wings.Blue Barrett wrote:You don't have to bench Oscar to play Mata either(hello? Where were you last season?)

And last year was a disaster. MAZACAR is nothing more than a PR move. They dont work together. You need a winger out there.
Which attacking player for chelsea is in better form than Oscar?
