Old Trafford 26/8/2013 Manchester United - Chelsea EPL
We are going to play against Chelsea at Old Trafford, on first Monday after the next weekend.
What a game!
Moyes at his first derby match at Man United and Mourinho at his first derby since his return to Chelsea.
We always had problems against Chelsea and I think they are the only side, who won more games than us in direct duels in the EPL era. If Moyes manages to get a victory, he'll have more self confidence, the fans will be delighted and the things will be on the right path. If he loses, he will have to walk on a hard road if he wants to reach the final of the season with success!
I hope that Rooney will start that game...can we see a 4-3-3 with Rooney - Chicha - RvP ?
Chicharito has always been a big game player, especially against Chelsea.
Glory!

I'd like to see:
Fabio-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Carrick-Jones
Nani--Rooney--Kagawa
RVP
That line-up lacks a bit of pace though. I think he will go with a similar team to Swansea. If Rooney is fit he will start him, ahead of Giggs. He might go with Jones in the middle to add a bit of steel.

I'd rather Jones at RB over Fabio, Hazard will eat Fabio alive

I am afraid that neither Jones, neither Fabio wouldn't be enough to stop Hazard. Eden is their best player in my opinion; he is unstoppable .

Yeah, Hazard is a beast. I think Valencia is a must so he can double-up with whoever players RB.
Is Mata fit enough to start next week?

its a blessing in disguise actually we get to face this chelsea side this early. in today's match it was evident their new signings are all a bit rusty. They are taking time to adjust to the premier league, and its a good sign for us. hence we can exploit that nerves if we go out there with a proper plan.
May be Mou wont start that match with these inexperienced players like he did today and may be Mata may return , but if not and he do field them i think there are some chinks in their armoury which if exploited wisely we can return with points

They don't worry me at all. Pretty confident we'll get the 3 points.
People are ridiculously overrating this Chelsea team.

they weren't that impressive vs a shite Hull team.
Lampards free kick goal was more bad goaltending then great goal, McGregor was right there and just missed the ball completely.

It's not necessarily about the value of the team or about the way they played against Hull; they always become motivated and very ambitious in this kind of derby games. They will always be a hard nut for us.

Fairly confident that we'll eke out a result. Won't be pretty, but then again that's to be expected of us in games like this
Next week it'll be Moyes 1, Haters 0.

So...the question is: which formation would be the best to use against Chelsea?
If we want to secure the midfield we could try to play with Jones, Clevs and Carrick at the same time in the midfield.
But this would mean the sacrifice of Wayne Rooney or RvP in front.
Look:
4-1-4-1
----------------De Gea-------------
Valencia ----- Rio ---- Vidic ------ Evra
------------------Jones-------------
Nani/Welbz---Carrick---Clevz----Zaha/Welbz
----------------RvP/Rooney----------
Many improvisations, new formation, but for me...it looks very good on the paper.

Valencia is doing a very good defensive job today, for us.
For them, Oscar is the only one doing anything.
I also think, we've created more chances than them, but not really clear-cut ones, if it stays the same we should put Kagawa on in the last 20-30 mins to bring in some of his creativity.

This is painful to watch. Contender for one of the worse matches I've ever seen.

We should have attacked more; I am disappointed. We had to win this game.
Jones was awful .
But but...Rooney and Valencia

Kagawa should have ran to Dortmund, as soon as Klopp called.
He's only here for his marketability and not his quality.
A shame.

Shame really. It seems as though Moyes doesn't rate or trust him.ronaldo__9 wrote:Kagawa should have ran to Dortmund, as soon as Klopp called.

Kagawa's potential is very high, but if we don't use him, he'll be ruined soon. Yet, I believe he will play more in the next games . Moyes is a clever guy, we should trust him.

tbh Kagawa hasn't proved he deserves to start over Rooney...pre season he had chance to lock up a spot with all the Rooney speculation and he was less then impressive. should he get a shot on the wings? don't see how Welbeck deserves to lose his spot....kagawa still has a lot to prove, we all know he has potential but tbh he hasn't earned his spot yet
