B.o.B.'s How 2 Rap included not only his boasts — "I know that I'm shinin', I know that I'm shinin'/Don't worry, 'cause you can find shade in my shadow" — but also his instrumental prowess, when he launched into a guitar solo after saying, "Give me my guitar pick, I'll show you s---."

In Outta Control (Response to Kendrick Lamar), Brooklyn MC Joell Ortiz responded, "Homey, you ain't the king of New York, you're the next thing on my fork."

On Tuesday, ICE T tweeted: "I love how ONE verse woke Hip Hop the F--- up. It's been a LONG time since people talked about ANYTHING someone said in their rhyme." In later tweets, he added, "I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of replies and diss tracks. Don't trip. It's just Hip Hop. ... Hey, Hip Hop stripes are born in battle. Me and LL (Cool J) did our thing back in the day. It's part of the game."
