...its off season... The whole forum sucks right now. When the A-League season starts/ International games come we'll have something to talk about. Until then, there is bugger all.
Chill.

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Out of interest did anyone else go to/watch Victory vs Celtic?
I was actually quite surprised how well Victory did, especially in the first half when they were probably the better team. It wasn't a good game to watch, however they should be happy with how competitive they were, especially given how much closer to their start of the season the Scottish side were.

^ Hewitt's a douche.
Pretty sure a lot of Aussies follow tennis. We need to start getting all the Aussies/Kiwis in here. :\

i went to CCM vs Celtic
paid $20 general admission tickets and on the way to our gate we found a gate without a guard on it so we went in and ended up sitting right on half way about 7 or so rows from the gate
absolute class seats!

I think everyone breathed a huge sigh of relief when Tomic did well at Wimbledon. It means we have an Aussie we can support who is both competitive and not a douche.
Here's all you need to see. Absolute gold:
I also liked a quote I once heard:
"Leyton's a great sportsman to watch. We enjoy seeing him win because he's an Aussie, and we enjoy seeing him lose because he's a knob."

Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
Does anybody watch many A-League games? I've been to see a few over the years(around 5-6 or smt) both at Sydney and Central Coast, but I have to say the quality is quite poor. I get much more enjoyment watching the local "premier league" over a-league. Don't get me wrong they score a decent goal every now and again, but as a whole it's just not that entertaining IMO I think it may be down to the coaching as a few of the players are semi-decent, they just don't use them correctly.

I went to maybe 2 or 3 Victory games in my life, hated the club and only went to games as it was the highest level of football in the state. The club was far too Scottish for my liking.
Since Melb Heart came around I was a member last season and already have membership for upcoming season, go to most home games and enjoy it too. Yarraside is shite though...
Re: The Official Talk About Whatever Thread
I plan on going to all of the Melbourne derbies and possibly Melbourne vs Sydney; if they're good games I might go more often.
Also Fatman do you support Central Coast or were you just showing up for Celtic like moi?

dont watch the a-league at all, just went to watch the Bhoys play, shame it was a dull game but it was still lots of fun, that was the first (and still only) football game id ever watched in the stadiumdostoevsky wrote:I plan on going to all of the Melbourne derbies and possibly Melbourne vs Sydney; if they're good games I might go more often.
