Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Schalke's main problem are a couple of injuries atm (Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Chinedu Obasi, Leon Goretzka, Sead Kolasinovic, Kyriakos Papadopolous), plus they managed to get several suspensions, too (in the BL atm Benedikt Höwedes and Christian Fuchs). And now Adam Szalai might be sidelined for about 8 weeks due to an injury he suffered against PAOK yesterday. Hopefully some of the missing players are back for the group stage, then Schalke will be a different animal again.Suarez99 wrote:Not really, they were terrible last night. Very lucky to qualify, a shambles at the back.rwo power wrote:The rumours of Schalke's death were slightly premature ^^
What pot are they in? I cant see any team fearing them, an analyst said last night they were so poor they could be relegated from the Bundesliga.

Well I hope Schalke can improve for the group stages because the atmosphere in the Veltins is fantastic.
At one point last season they looked a dark horse for the CL but everything just fell apart.
I also have Steaua marked as a team to cause a few upsets this season.

rwo, what's happening with you? The table is valid how it is; I didn't suggest how it should be. Don't tell me that you don't believe what you see.

They had a court date.
So if they were found not guilty, and hadn't played a game. Then it would have messed up the schedule.

The source is reliable, but it looks as if it isn't properly updated yet. E.g. Basel's qualification points are lacking, even though they had 3 wins and one draw from the CL qualification, for example. I guess you should give the maintainer of the data time until after the EL matches, as I'm pretty sure then the table will be properly up to date.Vlad the Impaler wrote: rwo, what's happening with you? In this table you can see the quali points already added: http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method4/ccoef2014.html
(And with the country part, I admit I mixed something up, but it will also only be fully correct after the data is completed)

Legia . I was at a pub next to Legia stadium. Incredible atmosphere. The city looks depressed today

Imagine if Fenerbahce were banned after beating Arsenal over two legs. The number of cheating allegations would be through the roof. What a shitstorm that would be

All of Celtic's players are fit except from Kayal. Our full strength team should be good enought to get through

Heard el sharawy is not starting tonight.why? he had an excellent game in the first leg.
Need Milan to qualify so that some quarter finalist scrubs will not earn more money than the winners by simply exploiting rest of the league being shet

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Are you really implying that Juve are 'scrubs'
Also, even you (I know it's a stretch for you) must realise that how far you get into the Knockout rounds depends on the draw. And we drew the best team in the World.
I don't like club Vs club arguments but if we're scrubs for getting to the quarter final in our first time back, on a small budget and winning the league 2 years in a row, what does that make the club who recently spent years failing to get to the R16 and spent upwards of £500,000,000 to win 1 league trophy in 3 years?
