Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Are you really implying that Juve are 'scrubs'
Also, even you (I know it's a stretch for you) must realise that how far you get into the Knockout rounds depends on the draw. And we drew the best team in the World.
I don't like club Vs club arguments but if we're scrubs for getting to the quarter final in our first time back, on a small budget and winning the league 2 years in a row, what does that make the club who recently spent years failing to get to the R16 and spent upwards of £500,000,000 to win 1 league trophy in 3 years?

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
calm down sensitive guy ..you exploited serie A being shet in CL last year...nothing wrong with that..but you earned more than eventual winners Bayerns which is ridiculous and Serie A needs money split into more teams than just Juventus getting entire money.
On trophy part,it must be great winning a no competition league. Juventus are irrelevant in CL so dont go on about making semi's as some kind of failure.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
There's a reason you're laughed at so much
But i'll indulge for you the sake of it.
Yes, in theory the Winners should earn the most. But that's not how it works. And if certain clubs *Cough Udinese* can't even get past the qualifiers, then the teams are entitled to get the T.V money and that's that.
Not an issue at all.

What he doesnt realize that Milan earned as much as the CL finalists but apparently juve are exploiting the league and monopolizing serie a's market pool

We're being blamed now because of other teams failings
But then again it's Adit and nobody takes him seriously.

Because Milan were qualified as 2nd last season?S wrote:What he doesnt realize that Milan earned as much as the CL finalists but apparently juve are exploiting the league and monopolizing serie a's market pool
This season Milan qualifying will give serie A 3 teams.Which is better for the league.
Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Who blamed juve? are we now putting words into mouth now? I said Milan needs to qualify for the sake of the league. They can finally land the likes of Honda and Sakho instead of doing bunch of free transfers.
Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Of course it's better for the league
Which is all that had to be said.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Did a bit of research on Zenit's spending in the past years.
2008/09: £43.8m
2009/10: £27.9m
2010/11: £37.8m
2011/12: £14.2m
2012/13: £91.3m
2013/14: £13.0m
TOTAL = £228.0m
What do they have to show foe it? 1 last 16 appearance.
Shocking how they have so much money but show no signs of breaking out in Europe

Just checked the betting odds.
Chelsea, Man City, Man Yoo, Juventus and PSG are all shorter odds than Dortmund

I do not agree with the these odds. Dortmund should be the 2nd favourite to win UCL in my opinion . City is the most hilarious one, no offense...Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Just checked the betting odds.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Might just well throw in the argument that foreign players who go to Russia for a big paycheck might not be the most motivated to produce their best form there. You hardly go there to fulfill any dreams of being on the world stage, rather just because a few of their clubs can fill your pockets.Suarez99 wrote:Did a bit of research on Zenit's spending in the past years.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
You could say they go for the money. But look at Shaktar (Donetsk that is...), the Ukrainian league is not as well covered as the Russian league yet they always look very good in the CL.
I think the reason the Russian sides struggle to adapt to CL football is due to the pace of their domestic league, its basically walking pace most of the time. Not good preparation imo.
