It was a collision in training with De Guzman of Swansea. Kuyt go a black eye, De Guzman was knocked unconscious.BarcaLearning wrote:Just saw the highlights but what happened to Kuyt's eye? Looked horrible!

First round result: Steaua 1-1 Legia
We have the most important match of the season tomorrow, against Legia.
But we dominated and only bad luck made us to not score more goals.
I think we will win at two goals difference, at least, because this is the real difference between Steaua and Legia and we deserve to go in the group stage, even if bookmarkers give first chance to Legia, because the outcome of the first round.

Reghe and the boys looked confident that we will surpass Legia, i'm going for a 2-0 win for Steaua!

Legia in own stadium is very strong, maybe they are in a weak form now, but with 1-1 in Bucharest, polish team safely can advance. I estimate chances at 50-50.

I know. They lost only one match in the last 13 matches played in european competitions. It's not an easy thing.ProXima wrote:Legia in own stadium is very strong

5 of the games are over for me.
Only games left where both teams have a chance of going through IMO are
Celtic v Shakhtar
Legia v Steaua
Milan v PSV
PAOK v Schalke
Maribor v Plzen
Also are Legia's ultras not banned?

Closed was only "Żyleta" (Tribune where are the most ardent fans). But they move to other sector.
Anyway, reason to quit Żyleta is very idiotic.

Thanks mate, best of luck to Steaua as well, would be nice to see more traditionally big clubs instead of plastic clubs like Man City.
There will be some atmosphere at the Legia v Steaua game, both teams have fantastic set of supporters.

Tbh, more people watch and are more interested in those Plastic Clubs rather than boring teams from Eastern Europe nobody cares about outside that part of the continent.
Sad, but true.

Don't really understand how teams like Steaua and Legia are boring, they actually have good supporters unlike a large amount of teams in the Champions League, produce a lot of their own players and play decent football.AltoZ wrote:Tbh, more people watch and are more interested in those Plastic Clubs rather than boring teams from Eastern Europe nobody cares about outside that part of the continent.

What you are saying is true about people being more interested in other clubs. Which is a shame.

Do you guys really expect people from the US or China to support a team from Romania or Poland or something?

It's going to be difficult for Steaua, but I am confident that the team can qualify if they play to their best. It's not going to be a 0-0 match, that's certain.
I think we're in pot 3 if we qualify, not sure though.

I am an optimistic guy and I believe that Steaua will beat Legia tomorrow but the chances are 50%-50% now. I will speak again about Steaua after the game; I don't want to end up disappointed like I was after the 1st leg.

I think Germany may have its first European casualty tonight.
Schalke are awful at the moment, cant see PAOK letting this opportunity slip.

In our culture slaughtering a sheep is ok, BUT when you really need (only for food), not for superstitions. I think in your culture (7amood11) is same thing.aleumdance wrote:maybe in some Cultures sheep is sacred?7amood11 wrote:What's wrong with slaughtering a sheep?Ciprian wrote:Yes. Some thousand seats.

This is an example that can give a bad precedent.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
I agree, the slaughter of the lamb for such incidental superstitious reasons was highly unneccessary given that it was improbable of the Karagandy fans using the carcass in a resourceful manner.
If slaughtered out of cultural or religious reasons, I would fully concur with their reasoning.

I defended them because I heard that it was done for cultural/religious reasons and after slaughtering the sheep they distributed it to the poor. But if it was done solely for superstitious reasons, then yeah, it's unnecessary.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
The first 20 minutes is crucial tomorrow night. If we score in the first 20 the atmosphere will be insane and Shakhtar will crumble. We have the players to put 4 or 5 past them but I don't have faith in our management.

FFS, Chiriches will not play tonight! Our defense is seriously weakened without him.
