Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Nani was ball watching whole time as well with his and guy came from his blind side so he couldn't of seen him, still no reason that should of been a red.Tomwin Lannister wrote:Think it's because there was studs from Nani, plus in theory Sow couldn't have known he was there.
I'd have given a yellow for both tbh.
but past is the past, just saying, similar incident and no thought of a red comes to anyones mind today

Arsenal didn't even get out of gear against Fenerbahce. Fener were so shite, they wouldn't even win Serie B.

I was deceived.ExtremistEnigma wrote:It's more than what you can expect from a Turkish team. Experienced defense, decent enough midfield, good CF and GOAT Kuyt on the flanks.
Most of them are past their prime but it will not be a walk in the park for Arsenal.

Could Arsenal have gotten more inviting opponents after that week of turmoil?
Fener were as bad a team as I have seen in quite some time, awful stuff. They must know that they are going to be banned even if the qualify, so just did'nt bother

Well, I certainly hope that neither Schalke nor Basel will bottle it in the second leg and proceed in the end ^^

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Steaua 1-1 Legia . Steaua dominated the game, they had some nice distance shots (Bourceanu, ex Fiorentina target and Adi Popa) and a lot of other big opportunities to score. I didn't like that we weren't efficient. Final score is everything that matters now.
However I am disappointed with our performance. I expected a 2-0, 3-0 win and the score was 1-1. The most disappointing fact is that after their goal, we lacked confidence and we were unable to keep calm and control the game like we did before.
Yet, I believe we will qualify after the 2nd leg.

Its a shame we wont see Celtic Park in CL
It's not over yet IMO. We are a much better team at home. If Lennon decides to actually play a striker it might help as well and we will have Derk back from injury.
Still a huge ask for us though.

Re: Champions League 2013/2014 discussion
Also, 3 of the seeded teams in the champions route are in very awkward positions in the second leg. I think Dinamo are definitely out, if we go through I'd be surprised but it's certainly doable and Steuau are in a precarious position as well.

Karaganda But I doubt that they promoted to CL.
Legia is very close group stage, but Wisla in 2005/2006 was very close too... Maybe this time will be better.

It was a collision in training with De Guzman of Swansea. Kuyt go a black eye, De Guzman was knocked unconscious.BarcaLearning wrote:Just saw the highlights but what happened to Kuyt's eye? Looked horrible!
