Yeah Gil and don't forget they'll probably play Honda as the CAM in the 4-2-3-1 so they can't even play SES/Ljajic there.

I have no idea what formation they can use to implement all 3 of those players without at least 1 being sacrificed to a role they're not particularly good in.

And any other formations they have used in the past couple of season would be even worse. I.E 4-3-1-2 and 4-3-3

Morata is there because all the high profile part-exchange options rejected them LMFAO

Not to mention Ljajic rejected them as well

As for Milan i think you will see a set up like this....

I'm thinking they'll probably play Ljajic in behind Balo and SES. He was originally an AM after all, could potentially work.

But where does that leave Honda if he joins? Depth signing?

Maybe they want to improve the depth of their squad and use the principle of rotation more than last season; I'm guessing that they want to compete in Serie A, Coppa Italia and UCL at the same time with real chances to win the trophies.

So we have two positions: LW/CAM and three players. Honda cand be injured and SES/Ljajic can go in CAM mode. Also, if SES/Ljajic get injured, the other one will head directly in the first XI for the next game.

Maybe they won't have injury problems , but they'll still have to play 3 games a week, therefore they should rotate them if they want to fulfill their objectives.

Honda as a CM doesn't look good at all to me

Then again for years they've had awful, awful CM depth. The sort of MF that will help you ship 5 goals in 35 minutes. So it could be worse.

But I doubt Honda's going to be so eager to go to Milan if it means getting benched right away.

Honda is more of a CM than a AM from what i have seen.

Will work out fine when you consider how much discipline and work rate he has.

The other option could be.....


Honda also played RW on numerous occasions, he's an extremely versatile player.

@Mole This can be a solution but I'd still rotate them and use Niang on the right wing as the first option.

We won't play like that.

1- Honda is NOT a CM. He's a CAM or SS, there is a reason why Zacheroni plays him over Kagawa in the middle. Honda doesn't offer that much defensive work, he's a TQ. Not a CM.

2- Not enough defensive cover in that formation even though it looks sexy .

3- Milan will be playing a 4-3-1-2 next season, for anyone wondering.

4- One of Ljajic or Honda will play CAM if both are signed, I assume Honda will be the CAM and Ljajic will be a back up to SES. His best performances have come as a SS/LW not a CAM.

Ideally that looks great, but I highly doubt it will happen.

BTW its pointless saying we would be playing 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 when Berlu, Galliani and Allegri have all specifically said we would play a 4-3-1-2.

Under Allegri we have had players who are SS (Robinho, Cassano) capable of playing CAM, but he doesn't play them CAM. And before you guys say those players are lazy, Ljajic is quite lazy as well lol.

We will definitely be rotating a fair amount next season, it will be interesting.

I think Honda can play anywhere in midfield.

I'm pretty sure i have seen Honda play CM before tbf lol.

In any case both are really good signings if they happen and quite a drastic change in midfield personnel since selling Pirlo for relatively little money.

Congrats are in order if you pull this off.

Lol if you've seen him play CM then there must have been 2 workhorses doing the defensive work for him. He's so poor defensively.

Why not rotate them and use Niang on the right wing as the first option? The guy has a lot potential to become lethal for every defender in a few seasons. He already is an amazing acrobat and he only needs to become more mature and gain some experience; after that he'll regularly put in fabulous goals.

Mate, I don't want us to play a 4-3-1-2 it limits our options, but according to nearly everybody in the staff/board they all said we would play a 4-3-1-2. It's pointless discussing different formations when we probably know we won't play them even though it suits our players better.

It is 4-3-2-1 not 4-3-1-2 and in my opinion this 4-3-2-1 formation doesn't limit your options.

Well, it seems that Ljajic and Honda would rotate on the CAM position in that 4-3-1-2 and SES will be with Balo in front.

I can't see it in a different way.

Disappointed if Saponara will be ostracized from this, i have high hopes for him
