Then again a really poor decision on his part to opt for this job in the first place to work under a LOL like Tan.
And I still believe he is gonna be a great coach in the future.
To be honest mate, his whole approach has been terrible.
When you're in middle of a relegation fight, you don't buy all the young players in the world in January and get rid of veterans who have experience dealing with the pressure. Not to mention, it was plain obvious Cardiff lacked a proven goal scorer, and out of the 7 deals he did in January, only Jones came as striker.,
they've got a total of 4 points in 4 home 6 POINTERS vs. West Ham, Norwich, Villa and Hull. and looking at their remaining fixtures for the season, can't see them getting more than 30 points in the league. Think they are done.
yea I know.
But that makes we wonder whether they are going to actually stick with him even if cardiff get relegated. A rich overhaul of the team filling it up with youngsters clearly suggest one eye to the future. And I am inclined to believe he wouldnt have done that without the board and even the owner's consent, such a drastic change in personnels. sort of playing with the fire especially considering the position they are in.
May be they knew what they were doing ? His working with youngsters attribute is really top notch. So may be one season in the championship and then from there on a promising rise into the premier league with the all these youngsters gaining experience and delivering. But with vincent tan at the helm of the club though yea looking very less likely of that happening.
Apart from this not so intelligent signings and selection everything else including his attitude, mannerisms, demeanour, positivism, and all are good qualities.
Watched an interview of his yesterday in tv and oh boy, he was an absolute delight with all his answers, oozed class , complete contrast to what our chosen one vomits each time in front of a mic.
So that makes me believe he is going to be a really good coach in the long run.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
People underestimate how bad a state Malkay actually left them in. Just because they drew with us (who hasn't got points off us this season ) and beat Man City they think Cardiff was in great shape. It really is the West Brom effect. In those same fixtures Cardiff got two points (Norwich and Hull)
They were terrible in the summer transfer window:
Malky spent more on Cornelius and Odemwingie than Bruce did on Long and Jelavic.
Malky spent more on Medel than Bruce did on Huddlestone, Livermore and Davies.
Relegation is not the end of everything, Roberto Martinez got relegated and Brenden Rogers left Reading in the championship due to getting the team into a relegation battle. Look at them now. What Solskjaer is trying to do won't be instant, so if they get relegated they should keep him and asses him later, he's only been at the job for a month and a bit. He's already brought them the best talent to play for Cardiff since Aaron Ramsey.
The brand of football Solskjaer tries to play takes more than short while to get his team going, unlike the shite Pulis and Big Sam play. Yeah, they get instant results but in the long term there is a ceiling, which they never get past. Same thing happens every season, no progress. Also, of course he's going to buy these young Norwegians who else is he going to buy? You don't want to splash money on players you haven't scouted yet , and with getting the job in January you wouldn't have the time to do that
On a side note, Zaha got take off at half-time today, poor lads confidence must be shattered

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
This season he's been more consistent (only one mistake). However, I thought he's been missing those out of the world saves, like he did in his first two seasons. In the last two games he's been superb. My MOTM, yesterday.
Top 30 saves, from his first season. To this day, I think his best game is at Anfield '11-'12 he was superb that day. Top lad. He's like a tall Casillas.

I actually think with a steady defence, De Gea would be unstoppable. Too many times this season our defenders have let him down.

Anxiously waiting to see his selected line up. Surprise me Moyes, don't play the trio of shitness

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Kudos to Moyes, he picked the best possible team:
team to face West Brom: De Gea; Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Evra; Carrick, Fellaini; Mata, Rooney, Januzaj; van Persie.
Subs: Lindegaard, Giggs, Vidic, Young, Fletcher, Kagawa, Welbeck.
If only he went for a simple approach v Olym... but for this match, I give him credit.
Hope the team can atleast show it's quality now.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
TBH, this match doesn't really matter. It's actually very annoying that Januzaj wasn't in the squad against Olympiakos now, for a match that actually mattered. Play him in the two legs and rest him for the rest of the season in every other game, if he wanted to really giving him rest

Our attackers have no understanding with each other. I honestly don't even know if they train together

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
We have a strong line up but we struggle so badly to break teams down. Moyes and his merry band of mediocre coaching staff on display here.
Our players look like a bunch of strangers playing for the first time.
I always struggle to see just where our goal will come from in open play.
It's ridiculous

Jones and smalling have had a solid first half. I hope they remain our first starter CBs for the rest of the season.

Re: Manchester United 2013/2014 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Yeah, Smalling has played well this season at CB. Jones has just come back from injury, but as the half has gone on he's gotten better. He also makes great last ditch tackles. He reminds me of Rafael at times in the way he tackles, he goes enthusiastically into it, not in a reckless type of way.
