Summer Transfer Window 2013 Pt.II - Page 40 Empty Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013 Pt.II

Turan's agent has came out and said that two clubs in England are interested in Arda and that can have him for 20m (his buy out clause) and that Arda is interested. Given our interest in the past, one of those can easily be us. He's a Liverpool fan after all.

I'm not giving up on Eriksen. Sad

And really? I was backing Rodgers' committee with Aspas, Mkhitaryan and Costa as I've never seen them play.

I was against Dempsey, and looked how that turned out. We dodged a bullet there.

I'm simply not a fan of Willian, like I said, from what I've seen, he's just all flair with no end product. And given his price, I don't know why we're interested. It seems more like a panic signing because we've missed out on Costa / Mkhitaryan to me rather than buying someone that will help push for CL / the title. I mean, we're only in for him because Willian is available for sale. I'd like to know how well scouted he was.

The good thing about Willian is that he plays a position we could use someone in, left wing. Purely position wise I would rather buy a left winger than a CAM (MkhhRyan) or false-9-striker (Costa).

Coutinho would have played left wing if Mickey came.

Coutinho is better than Willian, and we bought him for a quarter of Willian's price...

I'm tired of rating a player just because they come to Liverpool.

There was a time I put Downing in the same sentence as Juan Mata because good old Stewie joined the club.

Cabaye would take over Hendo's role, not Gerrard's. In a few years when Gerrard decides to hang up his boots, Cabaye would fill in his role. Proud

i think i am going blind, Coutinho look very good on left & back up Sterling,

on the right i think Aspas look ok on the right but not sold that his best position or a XI player, Ibe is to young

don't what to see Suárez in a red shit again

Willian's ship has sailed. If it happens good (seems highly unlikely) if it doesn't it doesn't. Just another marque target missed out. That has been the theme anyway for this window.

Who's next then? No point mentioning Arda Turan or Eriksen. We haven't shown any interest in them.

Is Cabaye a realistic target, I have heard from so many days about interest from PSG, Monaco, now Arsenal...I would hate to buy anyone from Newcastle again, specially now towards the end of the window.
So till now no new rumour of a CB to liverpool

Cabaye's best position is from deep, something Gerrard currently occupies.

Spending 20m+ on Cabaye would be stupid.

I won't be surprised if Arda Turan ends up playing in red next season.

No, it would not be. He is a box-to-box midfielder and a terrific passer of the ball and can play as good in the deep. Has fair amount of goals in him too.

I'm so glad we have missed out on our marquee targets so far.. Papadopoulos, Mkhitaryan, Costa and Willian. Proud

Out of those, our interest in the first three was never concrete anyways.

We had interest in Papa and Mkhitaryan.

Mickey has came out and stated he only chose Dortmund over Liverpool was because of "Dortmund has a great present, Liverpool has a great past" or something along those lines, you can't blame him.

Papadapolous we weren't prepared to spend over 12m on.

We had interest in Willian too. Not too sure about Costa.

Cabaye's best position is playing from deep. Gerrard is in that position. Regardless, PSG seem interested so he'll go for some massive fee. We won't get him.

#LFC have, I'm told, missed out on Willian. Leandro Damiao not on list of alternatives.

Spurs now look set to complete moves for Wilian and Erik Lamela. Anyone would think they were about to come into some money.

Andy Hunder of The Guardian wrote:Liverpool are resigned to defeat in the pursuit of Willian, which is a good job having been out-bid by Tottenham and with the Brazilian reportedly undergoing a medical in London. The Anfield club were first to move for the midfielder following news of the budget-slashing at Anzhi Makhachkala and had made good progress on a £30m deal by the weekend, albeit without taking his signature for granted having missed out on Henrik Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa. That caution was well-placed when Spurs arrived with a better offer to both Anzhi and the player. Liverpool refused to go above their initial valuation and Willian is White Hart Lane bound as a result.

I don't mind if Spurs buy Willian for £30m, I wouldn't like spending so much money on him, especially, like I've said, it's the same amount cash-splashing Anzhi paid for him before becoming cash-strapped, all-squad-listed Anzhi. And it all but confirms that Tottenham won't have Bale any longer.

How about buying Coentrao to play left-wing? tongue

How about trying to get Shaqiri on loan? hmm

Marko Arnautovic? hmm

This is how i see it, if we had to miss out on Willian to spurs, resulting in the possible departure of bale I'd be pretty satisfied. Missing out on costa, mky and possibly willian looks very bleak for us, if we dont get top 4 this year, suarez is gone and we have no chance of attracting a big name player. We will be hoping for more purchases like DS and PC, and buying talent more than established players.
