USA 4-1 Cuba

Ciprian Alfonso kicked off the game with a goal for the Cubans, but it only took a couple of minutes for the US to answer back with a Landon Donovan PK and from there murder she wrote.

Costa Rica 1-0 Belize

Los Ticos barely scrape through minnows Belize, as it took an own goal for Los Ticos to win the game, but not before a stoppage time goal line acrobatic goal line clearance to deny a what would've been a Belize equalizer.

Canada 0-0 Panama

Canada with a dull draw that seems them eliminated from the tourney with just ONE point, while Panama wins their group with 7 points, one more than the Mexicans.

Mexico 3-1 Martinique

and with this win from El Tri, they secure 2nd place in the group, while Martinique have to wait and see how their fate as a best 3rd place will play out.

So there's the customary "f**k you, US" calls from the referee we've seen in basically every international tournament for the past decade.

It was clearly intentional. The keeper made a parry save with his hands to block a shot on goal... more than a meter outside the penalty box.

This Wondolowski kid hasnt been his best today, but he looks like he can be a great player for 2018 and potentially 2022. Isnt he and Agudelo the same age? Future's bright for USA I think.

Yeah it was a pretty shocking call from the replay.

Was trying to give the ref the benefit of doubt though.

I was just telling RG how little I liked Shea as a player when he scored that goal.

Shea could be great, but for him to work he needs fast wing backs who can overlap quick enough with the CM to get him in space. The problem with the last game was they got him the ball with no space to work with.

Castillo had excellent passing, I mean he threaded the needle perfectly into tight spaces for Shea, but he's not a technical player that can work in tight spaces yet.

However, I see why we think he could be the American Bale (style not talent), because good lord is he horrible with his weaker foot.

CONCACAF officiating is the worst of the worst m8.

Anywho.. Your Quarterfinal Matchups:

Georgia Dome in Atlanta - Panama vs. Cuba | Mexico vs. Trinidad&Tobago

M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore - Honduras vs. Costa Rica | El Salvador vs. USA

Safe to say, Baltimore will be a home game for both Honduras and El Salvador.. last Gold Cup, when USA and Jamaica played in a double header with El Salvador and Panama, El Salvadorians flooded RFK, I think 85% of RFK were El Salvadorian and I expect no difference come Sunday especially due to the proximity of Baltimore from the rest of the DMV area which hold a significant amount of Catrachos y Guanacos.. especially in cities like Silver Springs, DC, and Alexandria.

The USA did work against El Salvador and 50,000 Americans who should be deported for not supporting their national team. Oh well, Landon has a message for you guys and your horrible sportsmanship just because the team of your heritage got worked to the tune of 5-1 (should of been 10-1).

Semifinals from Dallas where more than 70,000 "Americans" will not be cheering for "their" national team:

Honduras vs. USA

Mexico vs. Panama

CONCACAF have taken a lot of scrutiny the last two days due to the field in Jerry World being beyond 3rd World conditions.. people who been on the field are saying the grass feels like concrete and that its a very hard surface under the grass that was laid down two nights ago.. Also furthermore the decision to lay green sand over the seams where the ground shows under the misplaced grass has gotten a lot of criticism aswell.. expect a sloppy game on a sloppy field tonight.

It's going to be an ugly, ugly game. Honduras will do everything they can to make it a rough, slow, and chippy encounter and the field is absolutely atrocious both in quality (bad turf laid directly on concrete with noticeable seams) and size (very narrow).

Thank you Demolition Man. The early goal is exactly what the US needed in this match given the conditions. Now they just have to be careful NOT to give Honduras a goal to let them back in, as they (sort of) did with Belize and El Salvador.
