Was the best player in the whole of Italy only a season ago and was recently voted Bologna's greatest ever player!
Why couldn't he?

Re: GASTON RAMIERZ THREAD
I found this article linking him to juventus. It says they have been tracking him for two years.

Re: GASTON RAMIERZ THREAD
Gaston Ramirez is a very good player, and he was immense for Bologna two years ago. That said, he's not a player that fits into every system or every footballing culture.
The issues:
1) Work Rate:
The nice way to put it is that his defensive work rate is not the highest. The truth is he appears lazy most of the time. This isn't a problem in some positions/footballing cultures. However, in England the game easily becomes stretched, and he's subsequently left behind.
2) Focal Point:
To be truly effective, he needs to receive the ball and dictate the play. Similar in this respect to Adel Taraabt, he can change a game by producing moments of magic when he's the focal point of the attack. However, he can drift out of matches when played wide, circumvented by the style, or marked out.
3) Position:
This is really a corollary of the first two points, but he has to be played in the correct position. He must be played in the CAM/CF/SS position behind a line-leading striker. If played wide or deep, his influence will wane, and you run the risk of letting him disappear. His most influential appearances for Southampton came in this position behind Lambert and at Bologna behind Di Vaio (I believe...).
In short, he's the definition of high-maintenance. The saddest part of it is that the talent is there, but not to the level that teams feel the need to take the necessary steps to accommodate him. In my opinion, he would not succeed at a top club (and Liverpool dodged a bullet by not signing him last summer). It may be harsh, but I believe he will be one of those players that continually looks good in small markets but would flounder if moved to a "big" club.

@red
Thank you so much for the explanation.
I do believe he has the quality but he still isn't a finished article. Let's see how he is next season.

Re: GASTON RAMIERZ THREAD
He'll play for a top 4 club in the future. Wouldn't surprise me if he went to Arsenal or someone like that.
He was one of the best young players in the league last year coming into a new league at a young age. He was inconsistent, yes. But so was Hazard, so was Raheem, so was Oscar etc.
The talent is there. The only real battle he has to fight for now is to get more consistent games in.

Re: GASTON RAMIERZ THREAD
He came on a substitute 62 min and Southampton scored in the 66th min. He Gaston rameriez provided the assist. I feel sorry for such a talent being not played. Soon people learn of his quality.

Re: GASTON RAMIERZ THREAD
Was a crazy assist too.
Definitely needs to leave for first team football. He just can't play this 4222. He needs to play centrally. Sort of reminds me of Pastore.

Re: GASTON RAMIERZ THREAD
Injured. The moment his manager thought he could get something out of him. The moment he looked like he would get a run in the team. What a stupid tackle it was.
