Anyone notice once Poli was subbed for Muntari our game dropped considerably. It was basically De Jong playing alone with two idiots (Nocerino and Muntari)

Yup the quality of our bench is quite horrific. That being said, the starting 11 is shaping up very nicely. Poli seems to be an amazing buy for the money involved.
Boateng fails to convince me as an AM, yet again

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
I'd expect the team to look something like this, if we don't get Honda this summer
Biggest issue for me if Allegri finally gets the balls to start De Sciglio over Abate. I personally like Constant on the left more, I might be the only one. AND if Saponara has the character at the age of 21 to bench Prince.
--------------------------Abbiati
Abate/De Sciglio----Zapata------Mexes-----De Sciglio/Constant
--------------------------De Jong
-------------------Poli---------------Montolivo
----------------------Saponara/Prince
------------------Balotelli-----------SES

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
Boring to comment on our defensive errors and what not given the fitness levels etc and that Valencia have commenced training 2-3 weeks earlier than us; though we can comment on individual performances.
Nocerino, simply put, is not cut out for us. He is exposed and has been more invisible than vanishing ink, and cannot continue to further play with us, no matter how awesome his beard is, or how many #Nocenka's he entertain's with us in penalties.
Nigel De Jong is a *bleep* beast. If there is one man who has been close to replacing the great van Bommel for us, its him. After being in the depths after his crippling injury, he has been our best Pre-season player so far, as his wonderful goal was cherry on top. I really like him now.
Andrea Poli was just the man we need. A very complete midfielder who at the age of 23 can be further moulded and developed into the stages where his development suffered, after poor settling in teams in circumstantial reasons. Can pass, has vision, can defend, and is very DYNAMIC which is the perfect word to describe him..
Petagna will have to get used to playing v opposition to which he cannot bully with his stature anymore, and will have to do more to convince starting ahead of Niang, who equally is as raw as Petagna.
Glad we went through to potentially face Chelsea/Inter and showed much character in the end.

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
Feel like me and MTD are the only people who have faith in Saponara. Honda is not coming till January sadly, and for those 6 months Saponara should be first choice. He is an excellent 10, much better option for CAM than Boateng, Urby or Robinho. Shame he is injured. Honda is versatile player who can play anywhere in midfield except CDM and also forward, both as SS and CF. Having him would be excellent. I just hope Nocerino, Boateng, Traore, Urby all get buyers. Holding back our squad a lot.

Bonera is out for 3 months with a patellar fracture. From my experience with this injury, you're never the same again. If Bonera wasn't already on the decline he just aged 10 years.

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
The called up squad for the AC
Goalkeepers: Abbiati, Amelia, Gabriel.
Defenders: Antonini, Constant, Iotti (no. 36), Pacifico (no. 35), Pinato (no. 38), Vergara, Zaccardo.
Midfielders: Boateng, Cristante, Emanuelson, De Jong, Muntari, Nocerino, Poli, Traoré.
Strikers: Kingsley Boateng (no. 39), El Shaarawy, Niang, Petagna.
My prediction:
Antonini----Vergara----Zac---Constant
------Poli------NDJ-----Nocerino
--------------Boa
----------Niang----ES
Thank God we didn't get Bayern for the first round, imagine the scoreline after the game

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
With our available defense for this tournament, there's no way we are not getting raped
The only positive will be watching vegara make his debut and hopefully discovering another defensive prospect from our primavera to further glue silvestre's ass on the most comfortable seat in the stands

Vergara was very impressive, he just needs to improve on his positioning a little bit.

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
Well, it was a tough match. City played some scintillating stuff in the first half
-Vergara looked a bit clumsy and nervous in the beginning, but got better as the game went on
-KPB still does some erratic decisions in the final 1/3
- Muntari was fasting, i'll let this one slip. I know how tiring it can be going +15 hours without any food or water
-Niang looked sharp when he was introduced, really spiced things up
-Petagna got a nice goal, hopefully more to see from him
-ES...what can i say. Always gives 300% even when we're losing, reminded me of how he carried us in the first half of last season. Shame, he could've had a hattrick
Hopefully most of our starting XI can recover in time for the CL Qualifiers
Otherwise, it was a decent game, considering the squad we played. Hopefully we improve at the ICC

Re: AC Milan Pre Season 2013
Well, this was Vergara's debut for Milan and Zaccardo's first game after given 25 minutes of play time in February
And God knows how many months it has been since Antonini appeared for us
What i'm trying to say is: the scoreline should not have been a surprise tbh
