Marco Streller retired from football now. He managed to score 200 goals in his career (the shirt he got before his last match didn't take into account that he would score in his farewell match, too) XD

Pablo Aimar has retired from football, playing his last game at the club where he started his carer, River Plate.

Sad to hear. Loved him at Benfica and Valencia. One of my favorite playmakers of that generation. So underrated. Apparently, he was an idol for Messi as well. Didn't know that, but it makes a lot of sense now.

Sad Was one of my favorite players as well once. Grew up watching the likes of Aimar, Riquelme, Batistuta and all those GOATs and hence came to love the Albiceleste.
One of the most handsome footballers of all time. Smile
Hope he will stay in football.

Official Retirement Appreciation Thread - Page 8 Empty Raul retires

Post by Valkyrja Fri Oct 16, 2015 12:03 pm

In football world, Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu is bigger than all. Home throughout the years to some of the world best players, from Di Stefano and Puskas to Butragueno and Hugo Sanchez, yet this man came to symbolize the greatest club in history more than any other. Not many can say that they represented one of the greatest clubs in the world for almost 2 decades, being captain of that club for several years, while in the process winning 16 trophies 3 of them being the Champions League. This is a player who represented an era for Real Madrid, a player who should be imitated, for his passion, character, commitment, loyalty, mentality, class off and on the pitch.

One of the best forwards football has ever produced, a true legend of the game, today announced his retirement.

Thank you for the memories, Raul

I LOVED this guy so much. Was one of my favorite players as a kid. Truly a legend and such an amazing player in his prime. Great, classy, intelligent guy out of the pitch as well.

Like with Henry it's hard to actually feel anything when he practically retired from top competition like 5 years before his actual retirement.

I honestly don't know where he was playing recently. I remember him at Schalke and then some Oil Money club somewhere in the middle east.

You tried to look smart, but made a fool of your self. Overrated, underrated, who cares. Still better than any footballer Chelsea FC ever had. Just gtfo. Raul was a football genius.

I wish he wasnt such a scum using his powers and history to get his ways even when he was done, but hey, different perspective.

immense player for Madrid though, he was that odd guy who wasnt very fast, nor could jump very high and dribble 2 or 3 guys in a row. But his understanding of football, where to be, at the right times, was immaculate.

I love this guy, symbolizes everything I want in a forward.

Probably my second-favorite striker of all time, right after Gerd Müller. Though at least one third of that is due to his charisma.
