Of all the leagues in Europe... there's a reason everyone refers to EPL as the "d*nkey league". Ask yourself why...
Wasn't that term created from GL by a standard GL non spanish madridista?

If you enjoy defensive football Ligue 1 wants to be Seria A so bad. That includes les derbys du nord, Lens vs Lille & PSG vs OM(because i KNOW you don't follow that week in week out, nobody in france does ) More excitement in the North London Derby than an entire season in Ligue 1

Yeah... it'll be terrible for him in year 2 when Monaco play CL and have a shot at going far. Really going to regret his decision then.
If anything, he's sacrificing the first year, no the second.

Whos to say that they actually will be though? They are building from scratch and it will take alot longer than the magic 2 seasons that you seem to think.
Sign for a well established club, not Monaco ffs

When you get offered a cheque with as many zeros as Falcao has you don't think twice.
Falcao probably had very little input on his next destination btw.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Well you'd think a person who dedicated his life to playing football would want to prove himself in the CL and try his best to win it.
It's not like he's choosing between £250,000 per week and no CL or £5.87 an hour and CL football.
He could have made similar bank with Chelsea, City, whoever. And played in the top club competition.
Lack of ambition.

I'd rather live in Monaco then in England ffs . He's getting a hefty paycheck , and he has the opportunity to start something new . Nowadays going to a stacked team is a proven sign of ambition ?!?!? oh lord

Money rules in football. Singling out Falcao for criticism is absurd. He's doing what most others would.

Wut?
If you're talking to me I never said it was. But to argue that once again seeking to move away from a Club that has qualified for the CL (Which he's never played in) is ambitious then you're clearly not thinking straight.
Also, Atletico Madrid aren't a 'stacked team' and they're in the CL next season, why move to Monaco.
It couldn't possibly have anything to do with money could it? Nah he must be moving there because newly promoted Ligue 1 teams are the pinnacle of modern football.

Well, i'm not going to talk about some other random footballer going to some other random rich club in a 'Falcao at Monaco for 60 millions' thread am I?
It's not even the money factor on its own that i'm bothered about, it's the fact he should have already been in a Cl team, but every time his team qualify for it he leaves.
Money alone, I get it. Great to earn big.
But he's picking a shit load of money and no European football over a slightly lesser shit load of money and Champions League football. If anybody thinks picking the former is more ambitious than the latter then i'm sorry but clearly i'm wasting my time with you.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
10 mil a year with no taxes for 5 years (total of 50 mil net) compared to Atleti offering him a raise to 6 mil a year for 5 years and taxed at 55% (total of 30 mil gross and 13.5 mil net) is not a small difference.
That is a massive difference lol.

Lol wut?
I'm talking about the fact he is picking Monaco over Chelsea and City.
Either one of them would happily give him what he wanted.
At the end of the day, he's picking money over CL football, and considering the two teams I mentioned also wanted him badly, he could have made plenty of money anyway.

Lots of players went to Man City when they couldn't offer CL football but paid big bucks and offered big wages.
Monaco might not be in the CL this year, but if they continue to buy decent talent, there's no reason why they couldn't next year.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Chelsea and City cannot buy him because you can only buy 100% of a player's right in the EPL. Falcao is partially owned by investors. Atleti would need to buy out all the investors first and then sell him to a EPL club, which they cannot afford. It was too complicated, which is why no EPL team had made a serious offer to Atleti... also the reason why Spurs backed off from Damiao in the winter mercato.
Also, 50 mil gross taxed at 50% = 25 mil. Monaco is giving him 50 mil net. 50 mil is still massively superior to 25 mil. He's 27 remember, not 22. It's his last big contract and he's only been getting great money for 2 years.
Besides, Monaco is going to be in CL in 2 years and be a threat.
Edit: City are not exactly a CL threat although they play in it lol. They get destroyed in pool play.
