If they lose Martinez, then yeah it could be a long time indeed, especially if they change their style and personnel. They're a solid underdog story, but they don't even have the fan base to keep them going and competitive. It's probably for the best that a better-supported team takes their spot in the top flight, although I do feel bad for some of the hard working guys who have kept them up for so long.

If Wigan get someone better than Martinez then promotion ain't difficult. However, if he's still at the club then it's a lost cause.

I am sure Wigan fans will cherish the cup win and look forward to away games they can actually win, rather than get raped 4-0.

I expect them to finish mid-table in Championship next season.....and then it all depends on how they cope.

This wigan team...Ben Watson and Bobby Martinez are for ever Wigan Athletic legends though.and for the right reasons

Well, Wigan had altogether 38 matches to try and collect a sufficient number of points, so one can't fault Arsenal to be their executioner. ^^

They are a pretty well run club and should come straight back up in my opinion. Although depending how far they get in Europa could be a hindrance.

I don't think they will loose too many of their players or Martinez either tbh.
