Re: Premier League - Southampton vs Chelsea
One thing though, if our second team( basically) is like this we can say bbye to 4th place n etc due to the busy fixture. Basically we are depending on Mata n Hazard ( lately) a lot.
Re: Premier League - Southampton vs Chelsea
Which is why being dumped out of both Cup competitions in the next 2 weeks would be excellent.iNFINITY9910 wrote:One thing though, if our second team( basically) is like this we can say bbye to 4th place n etc due to the busy fixture. Basically we are depending on Mata n Hazard ( lately) a lot.

true, but we need a trophy at least...
Re: Premier League - Southampton vs Chelsea
No we don't. All we need is CL qualification and that will be put in serious jeopardy by trying to chase a piece of tin that means nothing should we miss out on it.iNFINITY9910 wrote:ShedEnd1905 wrote:Which is why being dumped out of both Cup competitions in the next 2 weeks would be excellent.iNFINITY9910 wrote:One thing though, if our second team( basically) is like this we can say bbye to 4th place n etc due to the busy fixture. CL will give us more money than winning either the FA cup or EL. 4th has to be a proirity because of it.

It's not even about money as much as it is being able to attract players to the club, keeping hold of the current ones, adequately replacing the manager, etc.Kick wrote:CL will give us more money than winning either the FA cup or EL. 4th has to be a proirity because of it.
Absolutely pivotal we make it this year. Failing to do so could set us back literally years.

I don't agree with that. While it may make Eden Hazard unhappy, everyone will still know Roman wants to be in the CL and that it is probably a one year bump. Top players will still join us, top managers will join us to prove they have whatit takes to get us back into CL and while Hazard may be unhappy, the other players really love the club (maybe Eden does too, who knows?) and I doubt they would leave because of it.
Also, didn't bayern buy Ribery and a few others when they didn't have CL football?

If we missed out on qualification, clubs would see us as vulnerable and pounce. You really think if Real came in for Juan, for example, that he wouldn't be tempted without any European football for a whole year?Kick wrote:ShedEnd1905 wrote:It's not even about money as much as it is being able to attract players to the club, keeping hold of the current ones, adequately replacing the manager, etc.Kick wrote:CL will give us more money than winning either the FA cup or EL. 4th has to be a proirity because of it.

As for targets still wanting to come, why would they? Why come to us over City, United, etc. when they can offer basically the same wages and CL footy?

Re: Premier League - Southampton vs Chelsea
Take a chill pill, mate. have faith in our players, Like I said, they love the club, Juan does and you can bet your money that he won't be going anywhere for a while, even if we fail to get CL football. Our players are not going to leave, how many clubs in the world can offer what we offer? not many, even if it means no CL for a year.
Also, maybe they don't want to move to city for other reasons, CL football and wages are not the only reasons players choose clubs. If we fail to get CL, hire a good manager such as Pellegrini and go after, say, Gomez, He would be tempted by the fact Chelsea are interested, because of who we are, not because of what Euro comp we are playing in.

also, look at our history, how many players have forced there way out of this club? Basically none in recent times, I don't expect that to change either!
There is something special about this club that keeps them here.

Yea, it's called money and European football. We're in danger of losing the latter, and without it, so too goes the former.Kick wrote:also, look at our history, how many players have forced there way out of this club? Basically none in recent times, I don't expect that to change either!

If we stay out of CL football, What is stopping us this year? a Shocking manager, we bring in a good manager next year and we have no worries, our squad is better than all the teams, bar maybe the Manchester clubs. We just need a proper manager to motivate them to those levels.
