It's one thing to no sing everytime, but to say, that you will never sing it, is disrespectful and shows that he is not a patriot. That could explain as well his performances with the team. Maybe he should have picked the Algerian team then.

Platini and Zidane never sang it either just to name the two most famous...

They at least were great with the team, despite not being patriotic. It was also doubtful Zidane knew the lyrics.

I don't think it has anything to do with their love for France as they have said... for most dual nationality players, they do it out of protest of the discrimination that exists in France.

It's a silent protest. Black athletes in the US did the same during the civil rights movement in that country.

Get real, if France was a so bad place for them, they wouldn't be there. There is much less discrimination in France than in Algeria for exemple.

France really is not really such a nice place if you are from the Maghreb, or even any other former colony in all honesty. People speak about it a lot, and you have to be either not a part of these communities or sheltered not to see it.

Even a metis kid like Assou Ekotto has told the world the discrimination he faced, and he has a white mother. Just imagine what a kid with two immigrant parents goes through.

In Germany the half squad refuses to sing, ok i know many of them have foreign fathers/mothers but the once who are born here should sing imo. I think just Podolski and Klose are not born in Germany but don'T know exactly

He doesn't have to sing if he doesn't want to imo.

But as I said in the other thread: immigrants are treated like shit in all of Europe if they're brown. Wouldn't sing either if I were Zidane/Benz/Boateng/Özil/Khedira/Henry etc.

Ok national teams are filled with foreigners now so I'm not surprised. You get to choose a national team nowadays so the patriotism thing does not come into play.

I will use the klose podolski example, they are polish and should have played for Poland but got a chance to play for a better team and went for it. You shouldn't be required to sing the anthem because playing for your nation has no meaning anymore.

I do think Natoinal teams need to be given stricter guidelines on who can play for them.

It makes National minnows even less likely to do anything.

I agree! Teams take players who have been in a country for a long time and get them a passport just so they can play for that country. I mean after the polish team recruited olisadebe and roger, that's a black guy and a brazilian I couldn't believe it. No racism but it just doesn't work. The polish national team should have polish players and that goes for all teams.

Yeah exactly it's not racist at all, if you want to have National team football it needs to be strict. Otherwise you might as well add transfers and loans ffs.
