He has a Balon D'Or while Del Piero and Totti don't
Re: Michael Owen to retire at the end of the season
He should of called it a day three or four years ago, he declined rapidly and has become somewhat of a laughing stock now.

Not every player stays at the highest level in their 30's or so.

I dont think its very strange.
Not many teams have use for a poacher who can no longer run and on top of that has no other skills.

Had a brilliant career that was unfortunately marred by his last few "free-floater" years. All the best to him, though.

I used to adore him in his time with Pool and Madrid. Sadly he just turned into a c*nt and injuries ruined him.

Re: Michael Owen to retire at the end of the season
In his prime he was insane. Probably the best striker we had in the last decade. It's pretty hard to remember his best now since it was 5 years ago or more but if he had stayed at liverpool he would have been an English legend. Probably all time EPL top scorer as well.
Will never forget his goal against Argentina and the hattrick against Germany.
And as an Arsenal fan, Will never forget his double against us in the FA cup final

lmao Shearer retired in 2000
And Owen is 7th atm in the all time premier league table. Despite not scoring more than 10 goals since 2007! while playing for madrid before that.

Great player in his prime very unlucky but he chose his path. Like RG says should have stayed at Liverpool.
