Reports say that Mourinho will stay in Madrid for another season, Ferguson pobably will stay another season with ManU before he retires, Laudrup would want to coach Swansea in EL so that's why he would just stay there for another season and join us after Jose has left for the vacant place at ManU.

Not that I know the man or anyone in Europe per se but I don't get the impression Laudrup actually wants to manage Real Madrid. He seems quite content with life at clubs who are not under the spotlight all the time.

I'm pretty certain if he ends up in Madrid, he'll lose his hair...

I know exactly what you mean, I get that vibe too

Judging from his interviews and shit, Laudrup comes off as the kind of guy who wants to play the game a certain way, and I think he might prefer to manage smaller clubs where they play the way he wants rather than go to a club where he has to change his style for results...maybe its just his cool demeanor, but he doesnt seem to be obsessed with trophies like some other managers

If he were to go to Madrid I would worry that it might be like a Pellegrini repeat, great football but maybe coming up a little short in the silverware department

Well mole, if Real Madrid dont move forward hiring Laudrup, at least he already has something stable in Swans.

i agree with Bhends and Doc, although i would say that Pellegrini's situation was a tad different because Perez never wanted him in the first place. It's because all of Perez's targets turning him down that Pellegrini was hired under Valdano's advice. He got undermined from day one and Perez was already planning to sack him before he signed his contract. If however this is Perez signing Laudrup, the difference would be huge. But then again, it's Perez and he is an idiot, football speaking.

whenever i hear of contract renewals like this when a big club is known to have interest in the player/manager i feel like its just to get the original club a bigger pay cut when the player/manager leaves.
