Tardelli: Suarez ideal for Juve, but…
Marco Tardelli thinks that Liverpool’s Luis Suarez would be an ideal signing for Italian champions Juventus.
The Old Lady have been looking for a top player in attack for over two seasons now and the Uruguayan has been linked.
“It’s clear that a striker who scores 20 goals a season would be a wonderful addition to any team, but good players are not cheap,” Tardelli, a former midfielder for the Old Lady, told Tuttosport.
“Suarez would be an ideal signing given his power, technique and directness, but I think that his purchase would be too complicated.
“I think that Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain would be a more realistic path to go down for the club.”
Juventus could potentially attract some of Europe’s top players should they make an impact in this season’s Champions League.
They are 3-0 up in their last 16 tie against Celtic, but Tardelli sees better teams ahead of them on the continent.
“Sides like Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Monaco and Borussia Dortmund have something more,” the Republic of Ireland assistant added.
“But the Champions League is a strange competition and things could change if Barcelona and Real Madrid are eliminated in the second round.
“At that stage Juventus could go on thanks to their organisation.”
