Where Could Swansea Go.....
.......if they had the financial backing of QPR? With Laudrup managing all transfers, not some schmuck like 'Arry, who thinks Chris Samba is a triffic' signing

Competing for EL spots realistically ,probably would be able to push for 4th.

You could say that about a lot of teams tbf.... i can say this if we had Laudrup as manager ( inb4 overhyping) we sure as hell wouldn't be 14th.

Good lad Samba is a terrific signing imo. QPR's defense wasn't all that good.
In terms of Swansea, they could possibly aim for the top 4 with QPR's budget.

Re: Where Could Swansea Go.....
Swansea win a small cup...and suddenly we mention QPR and budgets??
Remember luton town, well they managed to win the league cup in 1988 iirc beating arsenal in the final. It all means nothing now.
Swansea finishing in the top 4 with qprs budget?.... ....get a grip.

Re: Where Could Swansea Go.....
At the moment Swansea are living off of a number of good under-the-radar signings that didn't cost them much plus the players who have matured into decent ones - and Laudrup's fantastic work, of course. What's more relevant than wondering what they could do with big budgets is wondering can they keep up doing what they've done so far, i.e. finding bargains and maturing players like Dyer into PL quality performers. If they can keep hold of their players and the manager in the summer and add a couple of affordable yet good signings they should be able to repeat their current campaign, which would already be a success.
At the end of the day Swansea can be considered quite successful as long as they stay in the Premier League.

Re: Where Could Swansea Go.....
what i have learned from my time all these years watching football is that money doesnt guarantee success, but it certainly helps in the hands of managers/owners who know what they are doing.
from watching swansea and seeing laudrups signings in action i think its fair to say they would certainly be in a better position if laudrup was able to improve the squad more than he has.

Re: Where Could Swansea Go.....
unfortunately, the better they do the more difficult it will be to hold on to their manager in particular, among other players.
laudrup eating up over 75% of fan votes for the next real madrid manager position, i think benitez got 18 and carlo go the rest.
obviously, this doesnt automatically = the job but it gives perez something to think about as he has elections coming up.

Let's be honest if Wigan had Swansea's budget they'd be even better.

Wigan have been in EPL since 2005-06 while this is Swansea's second season in the top tier. You have to give them credit for what they've done in such a short period of time.Zealous wrote:Let's be honest if Wigan had Swansea's budget they'd be even better.

And it still isnt. 3 games in a row Samba has been awful.
