Neymar can imagine to play for us

He is a big fan of Schweinsteiger and the Bundesliga.

But can Bayern München imagine Neymar playing for them?

IMO the question is - is Neymar really as good as the hype that surrounds him and do Bayern really need him? IMO he is too expensive for what he brings Bayern, and moreover, didn't he also say he wanted to stay in Brazil until 2014? Moreover, Bayern repeatedly stated they don't want to transfer players directly from Brazil anymore - they want to see first whether they can do it in Europe in another club.

You know what, I have watched him only at international level, I have not been impressed and I have no idea what all of the hype is about. Sure, he may be doing something great, in the Brazilian league but at international level, he isn't all that great. He's better off at Madrid or Barcelona.

TBH if they paid 40m for Martinez, they can pay for Neymar just to have him as a rotational player.

If I were Bayern, I'd rather poach a young German for half the money, though.

They paid the money because they needed Javi Martínez. I doubt they'd pay the same (or even more) money for Neymar as he is not truly necessary.

Well, if he really wants to come to Bayern, he should veto any contract extension at Santos in 2014 (if possible, that is) and then come on a Bosman. ^^

Or gamble on the chance to come on the cheap with only 1 or even half a season left on his contract. Bayern will shell out a nice sum, like 20m or something, but I doubt they'll go above that, not for Neymar.

Not that he isn't a great player, it's just... That position is pretty much filled, no?

The thing is, with Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Gustavo, Tymo and Can already playing CM type positions, was Javi really needed at 40m? With Mueller, Robben, Ribery, Kroos, Shaq, etc. capable of playing what Neymar would play, why wouldn't Bayern go ahead and sign Neymar for 40m? Is the depth of the team worth that kind of money?

Well, Tymo is sort of past it and Emre Can is not yet there. Gustl was injured, Stubsi is injured, DVB is a bit past his prime, too and Javi can stand in for each of them and he was already accomplished in Europe, so yeah, he was pretty much a good choice even for 40 mio Euros.

Neymar on the other hand is a Brazilian who only played in Brazil so far. Bayern burnt their hands in signing Brazilians directly from Brazil before, so they will think twice or even thrice to shell out massive amounts of money for such a risky transfer.

Neymar coming to Bayern Munich will be a dream come through for me, Alaba, Gomez, Moses and Neymar are my favourite players, But I dont see bayern spending 50-60m on one player.

Okay, from a devote Neymar hater....

I think Neymar has potential, but he needs seasoning. He was probably the best player in the Olympics, but that was a glorified U23 tournament. The few times I've seen him actually play for the senior team for Brazil I haven't seen him really exert his will. I don't know if this is a product of his quality not quite being there yet, or whether on a team like Brazil, he's not in a place to be allowed to exert his will yet.

In the end though, Bayern is my club, and at this point I don't want to waste money on unproven talent.
