Re: EPL 4th spot
Not sure this year mate. We don't have a difference maker ( RVP ) this time
But i am with you, I rather Everton get the 4th spot if we don't

4. Chelsea (Will drop to fourth because Marin isn't Hazard)n - You do realise Ramires can play on the wing right?
5. Arsenal (Only because they have my favorite player hostage)
6. Liverpool (Same as Spurs, it's a consistency issue)
7. Everton (To many draws)
8. Swansea (To often fold against the big clubs)

Re: EPL 4th spot
Quote me on this, sig bet, anything, whatever:
Spudz will NOT make the top 4 this season.
Any other club between Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool & even Chelsea(we may drop to 4th with FSW's stupid tactics, you never know) will take 3rd & 4th.

I agree with those hoping Everton get 4th.

Which Inter youth players could conceivably provide the impetus for the side to climb the table further?

Well given that Inter unfortunately have one of the best if not the best youth system within Europe, then it would be; Livaja, Criestig, Duncan, Bianchetti, Romano, Mbaye, Longo and of course Bessa
All who are arguably good enough to start within Inter's line up which lacks balance and what is needed in the system they play nowadays.
These youths would definitely augment thier chances as the rest of the youth don't have a realistic chance as of now

Wait... Inter has a youth system?
First notice.
How many Inter first teamers are from the youth system?

Obi, Coutinho, M'Baye, and one of Benassi/Duncan all should be getting more time if you ask me... And thats excluding Alvarez (who is a little older) and Longo (who is on loan for some reason)
Granted, injury is to blame for some part of Obi/Coutinho/Alvarez absences

They have a good U-20 team for sure.
But a youth system is much more than one U-20 team and the final way to assess it is the number and quality of youth players in the first team.
I think Inter has 0 there so no, they don't have a great youth system.

I honestly don't know anything of Inter's youth set-up or players beyond the fact that they were in our group in the NextGen competition and we split the matches (won home, lost away). It was an honest question.
No need to get defensive.

And one of the best in the world by far.
The matter at hand is not on the abilities of the products but why they are not used much to Interisti's frustration for years and years on end. That problem comes down to Moratti who prefers experienced players who will bring quick and instantaneous results along with not settling for their wonderful youth to develop. Inter fans and their fury of this will be a testament to that. Therefore it cannot judged by their first team squad but the ability of their youth and their products who were lucky to find success elsewhere.

Sure, perhaps system isnt the right word. But Inter do have a number of good young players they could call upon, I think that was the main point. Could be mistaken though.
Dont agree though, why do they have to have numbers in the first team?
What if the coach dont like the use kids? What if they just arent ready yet?
That doesnt mean they dont have a good youth system, it just means something is missing in the implementation, for the moment anyway.

Re: EPL 4th spot
No even their youth system Primavera is legendary as evidence of their Players produced, destroying the CL of youth, legendary teachings winning Primavera championships and just how consistently they produce them.
The criticism is how of Moratti and his zeal for quick results and "Internazionale" players.

1) Scout and/or steal young players
2) Bring through academy
3) Win NextGen series or other youth trophy
3) Loan promising players to other clubs
4) After successful loan, sell 1/2 the players rights to Genoa for <4 million
5) Buy past-it 30+ year-old journeymen to fill youth-players' positions
6) Sell other half of players rights to Genoa
*Wait 3-5 years*
7) Attempt to buy player from Genoa for 15-25 million etc

Re: EPL 4th spot
Didn't Rafa give several young players a chance? Were they dropped/moved on after his sacking?
Edit: Beyond Coutinho, obviously.

Spot on Red.
Rafa did what is kryptonite to Moratti and that is using their youth in hopes of long term results. One of the reasons him and Moratti did not get along.
Stramachionni is the manager who won them Next gen and despite slowly bringing the youth into play, he is abiding by the Moratti law and using past it
argentines.
Quite frustrating for Interisti really
