Who do you want to see at RB?
Right Back Spot
So Sagna is apparently out for 3 months.
Who do you want filling that position?
is it Jenkinson?
Coquelin?
Gibbs/Santos?
Koscielny?
Personally i'd choose anyone apart from Jenkinson. I really question this transfer TBH.

Re: Right Back Spot
I think Wenger would play either Jenkinson or Coquelin there, probably Jenkinson :L

Re: Right Back Spot
I would love to play Coquelin there as he already has played there. If not him then i would love to see how Kos does there. But we all know who Wenger is going to choose.

Re: Right Back Spot
with coquelin's work rate i think he shd be able to handle it (masche did it for lipool). jenkinson may be inexperienced ba i dnt think he's a waste

Re: Right Back Spot
I believe in Jenkinson for the future. He should be quick and powerful. But for now it's better off with Koscielny or Coquelin.
LOL @ no one voting for Jenkinson :/

Re: Right Back Spot
id much rather keep coquelin in the midfield, but we're in crisis. i think we'll stick with jenkinson though. he just looked bad yesterday because he was prepared for bale's speed.

Re: Right Back Spot
Jenkinson needs time, he is a tower give him time. Coquelin is already a legend, he will be then next best thing.

Re: Right Back Spot
When Coquelin last played RB, he was embarrasingly exposed by Stoke. Jenkinson isn't the problem; in fact, it the lack of support he recieves from Walcott (or whom ever is playing RF) and the CB's.

Re: Right Back Spot
Coquelin played at RB at Stoke on his debut in fa cup in 09/10 season and had a poor game.
But he has developed dramatically in the last year. I watched him at Lorient on a few occasions and also on youtube videos and he really has improved so much whilst in France.
His performances against Shrewsbury and then Spurs were excellent, and even at OT until he was subbed he was one of our better players in a terrible day.
I see Coquelin as a Flamini type player, I am really excited about him. However, I would like to see Koscielny at right-back too, need to see who is better equipped.
Also, the abuse Jenkinson is taking is not good. He is young and was playing non-league last year. Let's support him.

Re: Right Back Spot
Coquelin was good at Lorient playing RB, sure he can do his job better than Jenkinson atm. I support Jenkinson and think that he's a great talent but he's to inexperienced to be 2nd choice. He needs time.

Re: Right Back Spot
We can't just write off Coquelin at right back because of one bad game at Stoke. It's been almost two whole years since then, and Coquelin has had a lot of experience at a good level.
I think he has all the attributes to play that role. He has pace and a lot of stamina. He's good defensively and decent on the ball. The role would not be too foreign for him because he's played there for the reserves and often played as a right midfielder for Lorient. Given his style, I'm sure he found himself helping out the right back and playing a more reserved role.
While it'd be a shame to remove him from the midfield, we do also have Frimpong. So we'd pretty much just be replacing like for like in midfield.
For me, Jenkinson looks out of his depth at the moment. He's at the stage where he should be playing the odd league game and cup games while he develops, not for three consecutive months. He lacks pace and his positioning currently is not as good as it can be. Going forward he looks awkward.
This is not to say that Jenkinson won't improve. He's still young. Defenders are rarely that good when they're young, espeically full backs. They're always liable to make mistakes and Jenkinson has pretty much had a trial by fire. It's just that I don't quite have the confidence that he can fill in.
I'm not too keen on the idea of Koscielny at right back, because we need him at centre back. We don't know when Vermaelen will be back - could be a month, could be two. And despite our defensive problems, I don't think it'd be wise to rush him back, either. So Koscielny is pretty much our best available centre back at the moment.
Think about it this way, too: Koscielny at right back means playing Djourou or Squillaci. That's just asking for trouble at the moment.
Koscielny probably could do a good job as a full back, but the circumstances at the moment don't really allow for that. So Coquelin would be my preference, but if Jenkinson plays then that wouldn't bother me that much.

Re: Right Back Spot
Confused.. why this talk..? I think Jenkinson has done well atleast to be the 2nd choice.. Sagna is injured so naturally it should be him...
And why talk about Koscielny at RB when we are in a CB crisis and dont have even Squillaci to play there...?
