He went with the strongest club he had an offer from.
Bump for fanboys lol. And it's not a criticism btw. He just went with the strongest opportunity. I would too.
Am pretty sure you people would've said something negative had he joined City for instance.Especially some of them would've drawn comparisons to Mou for him choosing a team with unlimited funds,i could see it coming. Why dont we look at this from his perspective though ? Perhaps City as a club dint appeal to him ?Who knows.
And Chelsea have the most unstable management in world football so its understandable why he dint go for them.

Re: Guardiola to Bayern
Best of luck to him. Seems a very good move for him. Their style already suits him. It will be very interesting to see what changes he makes and if he goes to a single holding midfielder/who will play the centre forward role/who will be the bombing down the flack RB/LB

If he went to City, it would of been worse. Not to start with, but once he won, the discredit would of been easy.
"They won the league the year before and he has billions of pounds to spent. He aint really better than Mancini, he did that too."

yeah, this is basically it. Regardless of how flawed the team he took over, he would always, fairly or unfairly, expect to perform similarly to his Barca days. He would have a lot of pressure at Chelsea, City or Milan. With Bayern, he has the same pressure but also the best opportunity to meet expectations given the strength of the squad.

Pep = Bayern coach = Bundesliga = league = compare with other leagues = compare with other managers. They're all linked to each other, therefore it's not off topic.

I think everyone agrees with this though.
The problem is when people say its "easy".
Its the best move for him on all levels, even the easiest move for him, but its not easy at all.

Re: Guardiola to Bayern
Maybe not on this board... but most footy fans consider that Barca, Man U, Chelsea, Bayern, City, PSG and Real Madrid have the same spending power and they are right more or less. I actually think Madrid can outspend anyone and they have. Where they are wrong is that they put Juve in that same category and Juve can clearly not keep pace with the spending of the aforementioned. The Franchise wrote:If he went to City, it would of been worse. Re: Guardiola to Bayern
Mt, you're the only Madrid fan that I know of that wants Pep coaching us. It's understandable that you don't get the rivalry between us and barca since you are a bot and all.
If anything I hope Raul gets some experience with Pep and becomes head-coach himself.

Re: Guardiola to Bayern
To get back on topic... it will be fascinating to see how he adapts to Bundi. It's not La Liga. The style of play is much more direct. Bayern doesn't have Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Messi to control the game in the middle. The strength of Bayern are the wings mostly. The midfield is very good, but in the German style.
Mueller, Kroos, Piggy, etc. have been trained from childhood to dash forward and play through the wing. It won't be natural for them to tiki taka sideways or even backwards. They also like to take long range shots when open.
Will really be interesting.

Re: Guardiola to Bayern
Easiest job available. no doubt about it. Bayern are already the second strongest side in Europe. His greatest challenge will be learning German.
No disrespect to BL it's overall a great league to watch but choosing Bayern is basically Barca II.
I thought Guardiola left Barcelona for a personal challenge, but with this move its kinda obvious that he only left because Mou got to him, n he looked for an even 'easier' solution.
There were plenty challenges avail btw: Arsenal for a start!

The Franchise wrote:Yeah it says he is smart. Why go to an immoral club like City or a team like Chelsea who wont let you coach more than a year?
Bayern are far more prestigious and likely to give you a fair shake.
Exactly. I don't think it's only about success either, Bayern is just a better club to work for i'd believe. Financial Sustainable, Nice atmosphere, good youth academy. Compared to City and Chelsea Bayern seems almost like a family business.
And of course they have playewrs he can work into his system.

Re: Guardiola to Bayern
OK... just to set a few people straight here. Bayern is run about the same way as Madrid and Chelsea has lol. Pep will be their 7th manager since 2007. That's worse than both Chelsea and Madrid ffs.
So please stop with this "family business" and "calm environment" stuff...
