Is Argentina the South American Ivory Coast?
A team full of superstars, yet they don't seem to play well together?

Ivory Coast are actually a very good side. Top 10 in the World (IMO) based on the squad they have.
They've never been able to get a proper manager though.

Re: Is Argentina the South American Ivory Coast?
Argentina just has the problem that they consistently have bad coaches and a pretty skewed team (horrible defense, overkill of attackers).
A bad coach can't bring balance to a team where some players are seriously subpar and there is constant competition within the best group of players. This will lead to constant pressure among the player group, where everyone will feel they personally have to be the hero.
Argentinian media isn't helping - they should get a foreign coach next time. Someone who isn't too ingrained in Argentinian culture and who bases his decisions on the opinions of the public.
They also don't have a leader.
Ivory Coast is very different, because they don't have the potential Argentina does nor the burden of history. It is not really comparable.
I would say Argentina is possibly quite similar to England (although Argentina is of course in a much better position, more successful recently etc.). Everyone expects them to do great, they have the player potential to do great (Argentina of course much more so), yet they disappoint. Probably because their important players are all too similar: they are mostly the big shots in their respective teams who get support. Oh, and they both have shit keepers, lol.
Anyway, Argentina will do better.
