What happened to Pedro?
2 goals in 22 app for Barca
7 in 5 for Espana...
This guy was one of the most lethal finishers in football only a few years ago. I mean....WTF!?

Re: What happened to Pedro?
He's still playing well (not in the last 2 games obviously but in general this season he does). Got 7 assists in all competitions (top assister is Iniesta with 10). So he's contributing one way or another. Always hustles. Doesn't slow down play. Nice trickery (assist against Athletic Bilbao for Messi's second). Nothing happened, really. Tito has just changed the team dynamics a bit. Goals are coming more from central positions (Messi-Fabregas combo, Fabregas has more goals than Benzema in La Liga and only 1 less in all competitions) and overlapping fullbacks (Adriano has 5 goals, Alba has 3). It's not the same narrow 3 striker system like in 10 / 11 anymore where he could sneak behind high line defenses regularly since teams sit deeper nowadays against Barcelona.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
He is playing below average, still back tracks which is good and does some decent runs but other then that, his shots are way off target and sometimes passes rather horrible.

Yeah I did. And you understand why... Villa had a bad angle to shoot at whilst Messi was in a perfect position to shoot at.
Why don't you just pay attention to your own club and stop jibbering about stuff you either don't understand about or watch because you obviously don't know what your talking about and trying to derail this thread...

Re: What happened to Pedro?
Well at least Messi looks for a pass sometimes. Not like someone else we all know who shoots on sight
OT though, his finishing has been piss-poor and he has gotten some good chances. He presses well and makes good runs and passes, but he just hasn't fired on the goalscoring front.

Exaggeration based on that "miss" against Betis. Which was his only attempt on target. From outside the box. With a defender closing down from an awkward angle and a perfectly positioned goalkeeper.
"Piss-poor" is if you miss clear cut chances. Like open nets or 1 on 1s from inside the 6 yard box. And frequently so. When you barely get into goalscoring positions in the first place due to the system it's not "piss poor finishing". I'm surprised even Barcelona fans still don't grasp the role of the wide forwards in the Barcelona system.
If I'm not mistaken Pedro played the crucial defense-splitting throughball to Villa who squared it to Messi who netted in from 2 yards yesterday. No statistic will cover this. But Pedro created that goal. But since he didn't get on the scoresheet we must question "what's happened to Pedro".
Pedro's doing completey fine. Not at his best and the lack of goals are bothering him mentally right now but he's doing fine.

He's tied with 4 other players for third most assists in La Liga so far.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
I knew people who dont watch 90 mins of barca matches (and only look at stats), would soon come out and ask this question.
Pedro is actually playing well despite the stats. He is creating more than attempting to score.
Of course everyone is gonna blame Messi, but look at cesc, tello or even villa. They are all getting goals.
Messi is the most unselfish player in football right now. He will put you through if u make the right runs and take good positions and thats why he is justified for shouting at villa imo. Villa was just being too selfish (not being aware of his fellow players) in a high pressure game where a goal was desperately needed
Pedro just needs to make more attempts on goal. There has been many games were Messi or xavi has put him through but he either misses or passes.
Not to worry though, he is not a Torres (like a main striker), he is a winger and as long as he creates space and and width, its all good.
I still think he is a big game player !

he's still been a threat in attack, just not as consistent in goal-scoring as he was in previous years.
LOL at people saying Messi is a ball hog.

This. Even though I hate the two, Messi clearly shows he is always looking for the better option unlike friking Ronaldo who doesn't care where his teammates are tries to go for glory...

He is doing a rather bad job scoring is what the main argument is in this thread, which isn't wrong.futbol wrote:"Piss-poor" is if you miss clear cut chances. In Pedro's standards its piss-poor form for shooting, look at all his recent shots and you'd understand what shinigami99 is trying to say.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
It's a bad streak.
He'll come to his old self and at the end of the season will have his usual average of 19% of goals/shot.
Apart from that, he is playing rather well, and has 10 assists.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
I agree with a lot of others that he is doing fine. His scoring, not so much and that just bothers me as it might affect his overal decent performance so far.
On a side note, lols to RM fans saying Messi is a ball hog, you guys are pathetic. He could be one of the most unselfish strikers in the game.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
Lol, I still remember about 2 to 3 years ago I posted on the forum that Pedro's a future world player of the year if he juz leaves Barca. (because with Messi around, he'll never get credited for the things he does and we'll never see his true potential)
Well right now i'm not so confident on that statement. It was juz in that Barca treble season he was SO EXCEPTIONAL. I mean, his clinicality infront of goal........and for that age. I trully thought he could be special.
But still he hasn't been that bad. I mean, the only thing that dropped over the past 2 years is his goalscoring rate. He's still a very good player, and imo a big part in the next 8 years or so for the Spain NT.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
He's been garbage for 2 seasons.... okay he has his moments but majority of time he provides absolute nothing other than work rate and majority of Barca forwards offer that anyway.
As bad as Alexis has been he's still been better than Pedro for the majority of the time and especially the last 2 games.... he deserves to start in front of him.
The only reason criticism is held back on Pedro is he comes from La Masia if he was bought from big money from somewhere the pitch forks would have been out a long time ago.

Barca's inside forwards don't need to provide anything aside from goals.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
He has lost a great deal of confidence in front of goal.
Also he doesnt get into the positions he used to, but that seems by desgin because he is getting more assists than ever.
But yeah, lack of goals to me is simply because he has lost confidence in front of goal.

The fact that he graduated from La Masia is also why he isn't as hyped as he is supposed to be, which is a world class winger/inside forward imo.

Re: What happened to Pedro?
Pedro is fantastic. Lately he's been below par for sure. correct me if im wrong, but he had a long injury layoff that kept him out for a long time and still hasn't recovered that deadly pre-injury form.
The guy is a very impressive player, though; quick, 2-footed, smart, sharp, incisive when on form. World class attacker to me when at his best and a big-game performer. Will be instrumental to Spain and Barca's future. He just needs to rediscover his pre-injury form.

Oh, thanks man we did not see this video, none of the madrid fans and media have ever circulated this video around before. Also thanks for making this thread about an old issue that has nothing to do with Pedro. Good boy!
