"Him being their player is ridiculous"
A random thread idea, name players thinking of which makes it feel ridiculous, incredible or funny that they still actually are players of their current club.
Some names that come to my mind:
Benayoun - Still actually a Chelsea player.
Malouda - The same and not even on loan, wow.
Joe Cole - Liverpool. It just never worked for him.
Squillaci - Arsenal.
Jan Mucha - Everton's second GK since 2010 and hasn't played a single game, a little ridiculous to me.
Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz - they're still Manc City players
Bebe & Macheda to a lesser extent - still Manc United players...
Michael Owen - Can't believe Stoke actually hired him for a year to be nursing "a hamstring injury" and sitting happily on the bench x)
Heurelho Gomez is still at Tottenham

I would say its quite amazing that despite huge decline, Essien somehow moved up a level from Chelsea.
If Andre Santos survives the January transfer winter, I would be surprised. He literally isnt good enough to be a back up at Arsenal.
I am not sure why Miguel is still on Valencia's books. He is constantly out of shape, never focused and a malcontent. I also assume he getting decent wages.

Essien's case is indeed a curious one, down to nothing else than Mourinho, I'm sure.

Re: "Him being their player is ridiculous"
great thread, it really is kinda funny/interesting to remember that these players really do still belong to certain clubs.
the best ones are the mancity loan rejects like santa cruz and wayne bridge.. and for awhile adebayor along with others that arent coming to mind.

Similar to Essien, Joey Barton somehow ended up at OM

And how does Hilario keep on signing one year extensions at Chelsea? He must have some deep dirt on Roman

He's always getting loaned out to Brazilian clubs. He wont be at Barca for long though, it seems he just never fulfilled his potential.Bénin wrote:Keirrison , barca

Pretty much Juve's entire forward line on all levels. Just a huge disconnect with the rest of the team.

Nabil El Zhar at Levante. ffs the biggest fraud I've ever seen. The guy can't play professional football to save his life, I don't know how he keeps himself around.

dos santos is a good one. spurs player for 4 years till this season. in and out of loans with 3 different clubs. could have been something special imo.

What happened to Alberto Paloschi? Had such a great start with AC Milan few years ago and it has been downhill since then.

Watching Sunderland v QPR and it still feels incredible that Julio Cesar actually joined the London club.
