It was RM who beat themselves rather than Dortmund imo.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
In the first match, Dortmund outplayed Real and thus didn't allow them to play their game. The same went for the first half of yesterday's match. That is more due to Dortmund's class, though. Give credit where credit is due.Nameless wrote:It was RM who beat themselves rather than Dortmund imo.

Dortmund are a top 5 team imo. They can challange any of the top 10 teams in the world and they are capable of winning their league. Top 5 imo by now.
Great set of fans and great players. Played very well. Could have won if Klopp didn't mess up by parking the bus. I hope they go far in CL if we don't win.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
The problem with Real Madrid is la liga, aside from Barcelona the league is weak defensively and most teams tend to show too much respect to Madrid and Barcelona . So whenever they come outside of la liga and meet a team with good defense, who also do not show them any respect, they surrender quickly. If it wasn't for Oezil freekick, this would have even be more apparante.
For the last 5 to 6 years, Madrid have failed to defeat any real stubborn team in Europe, typical example are Lyon and Bayern Munchen double knock out on Madrid, plus Liverpool humiliating defeat.

Those team are not really a strong side, moreover they show too much respect to Madrid.

We drew against Valencia earlier this season and lost to Sevilla.

Spanish teams have been far more influential than German teams in international stages. I dont think it has anything to do with the league.

It has everything to do with the league. German teams traditionally lack money.

Dortmund #1 in the group of death
too bad they had to concede that dubious last minute penalty in manchester. They could've been through already

I have to agree with my main man Viva on this one, Imagine say German clubs have all those money.
Everyone is also ignoring the fact that Schalke 04 outplayed, Arsenal.

they also dont get tax gifts like certain spanish clubs, so they can invest money in superstars, wich are essentially subsidized by the state...

Yeah, it got me pretty mad as well, especially after Ă–zils equalizer. That one was at least deserved, but the penalty was a bullshit call.

And where does this arrogance stem from ? You cant even beat them head to head and its the first tough group you've got in years and no surprise you are struggling to get a strong foothold of the group.

Borussia dortmund looking really really good
This team looks........frightening. the speed and pace in which they play and the way they attack in numbers is breath taking. My pick to win the CL this season. Just hope we avoid them..
Edit:Sorry for not bumping another thread about this team, im on my phone and cant be bothered.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
They are definitely an elite team in my book..Top 5 team in Europe without a doubt ,not far off behind Barca,Bayern or Real.
Since they've topped the group,i tip them to reach the semi finals this year.Imo this current BVB is definitely stronger than BVB of last year which had Kagawa. They do have a lot more depth this time round too.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
They have the same team as last season minus Kagawa + Reus + Schieber (who rarely even plays). From the first team only Reus replaced Kagawa and that's it.
Dortmund were simply unlucky last season, they were just as strong but finishing and injuries let them down. I know this because they were in the same group as Arsenal.
As for Dortmund's chances this season I'm not predicting anything (because I'm not the best in predicting) but I believe if they get a favourable draw they'll go pretty far this season.

They have been top for 3 years, not really surprised to see them doing this good. Like urban said they were unlucky last year. Lewa missed like 20 chances in each of their games but this year they have Reus and a better n fit Gotze. Brilliant team with a brilliant manager.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
Borussia Dortmund have looked like that for several years now. Their premature exit in last year's CL muddled their reputation a bit, but any Buli follower will know that there's a reason why they've won 2 BLs in a row and smashed Bayern every time they've faced us.
