Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
Borussia Dortmund have looked like that for several years now. Their premature exit in last year's CL muddled their reputation a bit, but any Buli follower will know that there's a reason why they've won 2 BLs in a row and smashed Bayern every time they've faced us.

Just the perfect example of how a football club should be run.
I agree with everything that was said before me except a fundamental thing everyone missed/forgot.
Their kits/fans/stadium are just

They're class but I don't think they'll win it imo.
Still very inexperienced in Europe and not too sure how Klopp will do managing against a tactician.

He was able to collect 4 points out of a possible 6 against 'Da Greatest Tactician Da world'..
Klopp is one of the best coaches going around in the football world currently..I also do rate him higher than Mourinho

Mourinho doesn't look motivated this season and he doesn't really take it that serious until the knock-out stages. Hold up.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
What tacticians left in the competition Mourinho a side who i personally believe is overrated as a tactician is going to do a job on Dortmund?
Dortmund won't win it but that won't be the reason.... the reason will be depth and the fact there's better teams than them.
Semi's is a possibility though but yeah they have been class for years, was just a matter of experience and a bit more luck.
About Sahin and Kagawa they are better off without them as strange as it sounds.
Kagawa has been replaced by Gotze really and they have added extra goal threat in Reus who is one of the best inside forwards around IMO.
Sahin has regressed since going to Madrid and Gundogan and Leitner have progressed into wonderful midfielders which they probably wouldn't have done if Sahin stayed.

Agree with Mole imo..Gundogan currently >>>Sahin and Goetze has replaced Kagawa in addition to adding a fantastic forward like Reus to the team.

Re: Borussia Dortmund appreciation thread
Mole, the Champions League always has been about tactics and how a team sets up. It always has been.
It's why you see the likes of Mancini struggle in the CL as he's not a great tactician despite having one of the better sides in the world.
Mourinho is arguably the best in the history of the game.
Havn't seen much of Barca this season, but it looks like Tito is just continuing Pep's system which has shown it works. [Correct me if I'm wrong]
If Chelsea end up coming out of the group, Rafa is one of the better tacticians in the world.
Carlo, despite doing poorly in Ligue 1, is also great as a tactician.
I can go on and on. But I do feel if you can stop Dortmund's ability on the ball and not give them much too much space that you will frustrate them as they don't really have a plan B.

Barca are just better than Dortmund tbf i doubt that will come down to tactics too much and i have watched Dortmund consistently over last couple of years and i'd argue Kloppo is no slouch in the tactics department.
I agree with the notion about CL tactics and how teams set up but Dortmund don't let teams play their pressing is immense and it's very difficult to stop the front 4 in full flow and the defence is great.
I just don't think tactical flaws will be their downfall..... rather a lack of depth and a selection of teams being simply better and quite frankly more experienced in the latter stages.
