It's about the fact that when Fergie criticizes a ref, that ref doesn't ref United's game for nearly a year.

I'm not one who believes in conspiracy theories and such, and I certainly don't believe United are controlled the FA or anything of the like, but I just want to point out that when people are claiming that United get more decisions in their favour (especially in big matches) and/or that referees get punished when United DON'T get decisions in their favour; and you use a match United aren't actually involved in as an argument (i.e. Reading - Arsenal), it makes you look a bit silly and biased.

Yeah but thats not what OP is arguing really...The original argument wasn't just that United "get more calls", it was that United has influence over who gets appointed to what games based on Fergie's complaints, and as a result of that, refs for United games are under pressure to give ManU calls so that they don't commit career suicide...

And when fans of clubs who consistently finish toward the top of the league go around acting like they are victims of a conspiracy by one club, even when you are the beneficiaries of two incorrect calls in your favor in less than a week (as in the case of Arsenal), it looks quite ridiculous.

Arguing that Man Utd has had a lot of calls go in their favor, as you are, is hardly a reach...But thats over-simplifying whats going on in this thread if you ask me

We thrashed United at home last season, ends up 3-3 due to horrid penalty calls. Could have won on the weekend but 3-2 with their final goal being offside.

The only thing ever brought up by united fans is the one offside goal we scored which ended in the referee getting demoted or something.

The fact that united at known as the team who win matches on last minute penalties, get every awful decision going there way isn't because people are jealous. It's because over the years they get constant questionable decisions going their way.

I don't think there is any conspiracy or anything going on behind the scenes I simply think the pressure that fergie puts on the referees is far too much and they end up going out of their way to please him.
