Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
The coach called time on his four-year spell in charge at Camp Nou in May, citing exhaustion and a need to recharge his batteries.
However, according to the representative, he could have remained in his post, but club president Sandro Rosell saw the quartet as untouchable.
"Guardiola announced his terms of renewal to Rosell. Among them was the sale of four players - Alves, Pique, Cesc and David Villa," Gallardo was quoted as saying by AS.
"Pep did not seem committed to Fabregas, Gerard and Dani, while the reasons for Villa leaving were sporting. He was especially disappointed in Cesc as a person, as he had refused to shake his hand when he signed.
"These players were regarded as untouchable, and the fans would not have accepted the sale."
Guardiola's successor, Tito Vilanova, has enjoyed an unbeaten league start with his side sat in first place, level on points with Atletico Madrid.

This explains a lot and I actually believe this. Pique was very unprofessional letting his private life disrupt his football, Fabregas's problem is still well documented and has still not been fixed, Alves we all know about and Villa wanted more playing time. What dou you guys think?

Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
The story to me doesn't make sense, considering Villa played all his games and could not be sold injured...
Why would Pep wanna sell their only CB that is 25 or below lol, and alves was one of their best players.
As for Cesc, is the biggest obvious lie, the relationship between Pep and Cesc was great, so great that Thiago was given #4 near end of the summer and once Cesc came in he took that number which belonged to Pep when he was a player, and claimed that is the reason he wanted it.
Gol, or well LOL new is very unreliable and it's funny how many stories of Barcelona have come in *the Montoya one* the week Madrid lose they greatly support Madrid.

Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
It's not impossible, but I kinda doubt it. Alves, Pique and Villa were part of his amazing team that won everything, would you really sell all three key players of a winning team in one go? And Fabregas was just bought for a big sum of money after some very difficult negotiations, even if you're not completely happy with him surely you'll understand that it would look ridiculous trying to offload him so soon.

Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
Another classic MARCA- AS fabrication.
Pep wanted to leave even before cesc came in, but he was persuaded to continue. Rossel begged for Pep to continue, but it is well known Pep always wanted a short term at Barca, i.e. he didnt want to make the same mstakes Cryff made, and stay too long.
If you believe these MARCA-AS stories then its to you.

Well I'm guessing you do not watch Barcelona. Pique was very unprofessional and was letting his personal life get inthe way. We have seen that Pep hates that the most as with Deco and Ronaldinho. Alves even complained that the club didn't want him. David Villa was sitting on the bench before his injury and was getting benched, Fabregas just did not fit into Pep's Barcelona and till this day refuses to listen to instruction. Cesc has shwon himself to be very tactically inept and always wants to go forward.

Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
I'm not trying to derail the thread, but in he same AS publication;
Barca have already paid 10 million euros for Neymar
Not only that. Rac1 also confirms that there is already a medical examination of the player in possession of Barcelona. The data of what at first seems the operation to sign Neymar on page 178 of the Annual Report of Barcelona. This is the text: "A June 30, 2012, the Club has firm commitments to purchase long term amounting to 40,000 thousand euros. Regarding this commitment, the Club has paid during the year 10,000 thousand euros, which have been recorded under the advance of "Intangible sports" at June 30, 2012
[AS.Spain]
These papers are so full of BS, trust me. That includes Sports as well.

^ so..........?
This is all speculation...about a 40 million operation. It never says its for a particular player or a transfer. Sport even says in the title ; Is this proof of the signing of Neymar to Barça?

Not sure why he'd wanna sell Pique and Alves, but Fabregas and Villa are understandable.
Fabregas doesn't really suit Barca and Villa's 31 this year.

You are right in that I don't watch Barcelona, but I really doubt it that any manager would sell worth ~100m of his all-conquering squad in one transfer window.

Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
I don't think it's that crazy tbh
Pique - there were rumours of issues between the two. Pep didn't like how irresponsible Pique is.
Alves - might be about him declining, he hasn't looked like his old self so far in to the season.
Fabregas - obvious
Villa - he is 31 years old
also were Yaya and Eto'o underperforming? Pep didn't want them either

Guardiola moved heaven and earth to get Cesc, only to give up on him after a year? Sounds legit...

1-Neymar would cost 40M,coincidence? 2-Marca,Mundo Deportivo and Sport have been reporting for ages that Barca paid some cash in advance 3-Rossel told ESPN that they would approach Neymar in 2014 (http://m.espn.com.br/noticias_internan.php?id_not=235716),thats not something to throw in the media just like thatgondov wrote:^ so..........?

Seems too much of a coincidence to me.Anyway, even is that 40M isn't about the transfer, I'm sure he will end up in Catalonia in a couple of years

Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
This is gotta be the biggest pile of bull I have ever read. Obviously the guy is an attention whore.
Re: Guardiola wanted to sell Fabregas, Pique, Villa & Dani Alves
Biggest bull crap I have ever read in my entire life and some of the Madrid fans are just making it worse
Piqué and Pep have both said that there were no hard feelings between them. Piqué has said that a couple of times now and surely reporters still don't give a crap about it
Alves and Pep- Peps best ever signing who has played a right back for so long in so many matches. If there was a conflict between the two then Pep would have benched him a few games like he did with Ibra.
Fab and Pep- Biggest joke of the lot. The one player that Pep wanted and was willing to pay an arm and a leg for? The player that started every game even displacing Iniesta in midfield and playing him on the wings. Seriously just sound how ridiculous that sounds...
Villa and Pep- When the first of the Villa-Messi conflicts arose, Pep was the one that calmed it all down stating who doesn't love Villa. Even said that Villa is an important player in who he hopes can play to the very end of his career at Barca.

I dopn't believe this even if it could be a bit true , the most part is false
He was especially disappointed in Cesc as a person, as he had refused to shake his hand when he signed. is that a joke ?

Why would Pep even think about selling these players, when he already had decided that he would leave the club, this makes no sense.
