Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
Mole, give credit to a Liverpool player? That's a laugh.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
WC talent but he's a turnover machine & extremely inconsistent in front of goal.

The term 'world class' gets thrown around too much. He is very good, but I agree with Mole.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
I used to love watching him whenever I got to see Dutch highlights but now that I've seen his diving, simulation, Ghana 'heroics' and what not, my respect has lowered drastically. He is still a brilliant player. Was amazing vs Arsenal last season when van Persie scored his double but seriously needs to cut down on the negative aspects to truly be recognized as one of the best players currently.
Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
Oh and improve his finishing, he may have scored a few this season but I'm sure his shots per goals ratio is very poor.
Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
Meh. if WC is top 50 attacker in the world, sure.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
A lot of people are either overrating him or underrating him. He is not world class - not yet anyway. Saying that, he is a very good player and has the potential to be one. He has 7 goals in 11 appeareances this season and he isn't even a goal scorer. It is true he wastes chance after chance but at the end of the day he is always a goal-threat and has that winning mentality. And at the end of the day, Suarez has always been a creator with an eye for the goal. Both at Ajax and at Liverpool.
People seem to look at him and are in the belief that he is a goalscorer - he isn't. He's a second striker or a playmaker; whatever you want to call it. He's in my opinion, a lot better as an inside forward on the right hand side. With that said, he plays predominately in the middle under Rodgers and is the focal man as he has no-one else to play there. Fabio Borini was too young / inexperienced / not strong enough to lead the line. And now with Borini out injured, he's only surrounded by Sterling and Suso - both still very very young. If Liverpool do sign a proven goal scorer in January, you'll definitely see the real Suarez and the ability he possesses.
You're an idiot.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
But ywna, he takes too much shots to be not a goal scorer and just a creator. Lets not kid ourselves here. Yes he is not a striker but so are not Messi and Cristiano.
He is a world class player for me, just stuck in a team which is building and lacks good support for him, IMO if all players are fit, this team will be at a level above than the Liverpool had in recent years. If you guys are successfully convincing Sahin in staying at Anfield with Lucas fit and the ver reliable Allen, you will have a monster midfield.

And im sure it has nothing to do with the fact we don't have a decent striker since 2 years, Right?
Borini was signed to reduce the burden, He is out for 3 months. BR's is 100% gonna sign a striker in Jan.
Its not his job getting the goals, But he doing well to an extent. Wouldnt mind him getting some more.

he has a goal scorer in him, you can see that through his movements. And it is not like with a striker, he wont go for goals at same intensity. Ofcourse his game is good even without goals but he does have to add them reguarly as he has the quality.

Mate, he has unbelievable support. He just isn't a finisher. I've followed Suarez' career whilst he was at Ajax and even more so at Liverpool. He isn't a finisher.
He takes too many shots because he's the focal point in the team [due to the fact that we don't have a goalscorer]. The only reason he scored more goals in Holland is due to the fact that the keepers in the PL are far superior than in the Eredivisie.
The whole system at Liverpool that Rodgers has built is around Suarez. If we do sign a proven goal scorer the "real" Suarez will come out. His assists will rise and the burden to score will take less pressure off him and he'll act more composed infront of goal meaning he'll start taking more of his chances. We tried to take the pressure off him by bringing in Borini but he's out injured now. He also still hasn't broke the PL duck.
I'll use Opta to back me up:
He's only scored 5 goals in the league despite having 39 shots in the league. He really could be on 10 goals if he had the finishing of someone like RvP maybe even more. Granted he's made a lot of his own chances, some really have been put on a plate for him only for him to rush into the kick.
He's made 23 key passes in the final third and isn't even in the top 10 assist chart which is less than 3. He has no players around him that can score. Our best finisher is currently playing deep in midfield trying to cover Lucas Leiva.
To be honest, if we do sign someone in the final third that is on the same wavelength as Suarez and can put the ball into the back of the net, we'll start to find that form of 2008 again and will challenge to get back into the four and move on from there.
Our defence whilst still trying to adapt to Rodgers style is still solid although Reina is out of form. The midfield is one of the best in the league. (When Lucas is fit.) Go to our final third, and you have a 17 year old and 18 year old featuring around someone playing in a role that he's only ever had to adapt to at Liverpool due to the fact that we've had no one there.
Also. That sig goal of Cantona is amazing. Remember watching that live. Great player even though he's still a c*nt.

Usually, but no. Didn't say he'd be dead last on a top 50 list... Just
illustrating that I think ppl in this forum use the term WC too often. Sure, there are frequent WC performances, but to be truly a WC player is a whole other thing. You've said it yourself, he's overrated. He's no where near a BdO shortlist... WC to me is top 2-3 in your position. There are many better strikers atm.
I know, idiotic logic for ya.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
If he could finish consistently he would be a world class player imo, the way he creates space for himself to shoot is almost unstoppable at times. It's a shame he really really sucks with his finishing atm, if not he would be very awesome.

fair enough but as I still think he has the thing but just cant finish most of the times, because he creates and gets into positions like a world class striker but lacks the finishing.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
I remember saying that Suarez is there with Ronaldo and Messi if you remove those misses, And i got slated by a united fan. Was told to "get a grip".
Pretty sure those united fans are never gonna see a center forward go through 4 players and the keeper in a matter of 5meters again in their life.

No chance, Iniesta is a great dribbler, One/Most probably the best player in his position, But no chance he can go past 4-5 players from the corner flag to the keeper.
Seriously no player can do that bar Messi.
Ben Arfa and Iniesta have similar dribbling styles.

Attack me all you want.
He is the second/third best dribbler in Europe.
Show me a player who get out of such tight positions[ Inside the box ] and get a shot, Nick.
And if you do, Then we will talk about the nutmegs.

you are talking about dribbling alone? then ok i agree, he is excellent dribbler.
but you said up there with ronaldo and messi...Ronaldo isnt a great dribbler, so i thought you meant greatness in general

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
Suarez' dribbling style is a bit haphazard.
The way he tries to walk the ball past players looks like he's relying on luck.
However he's usually successful.

Re: how highly do you rate Suarez?
Iniesta is a better dribbler. Maybe not long distance, but his balance, awareness and control over short distance is better. Its better to watch imo and its more effective imo
