Chelsea vs Wolves - League Cup 3rd Round
As we all know, Chelsea face off in our first
Wolves have just started to hit their stride under new manager Stale Solbakken, having won their last 3 in the League on the spin, and currently sit a respectable 5th in the Championship. Chelsea, after 2 draws on the trot against West London rivals Queens Park Rangers and Italian Champions Juventus in the Champions League, got back to winning ways on Saturday on the back of a good performance against a to-be-expected defensively resolute Stoke City.
In the press conference following that match, Roberto Di Matteo gave us some insight into his thoughts on team selection for Tuesday's game, saying, "We have a few players that probably haven't had much chance to bring much to the team; some of our new signings as well. It's not going to be a completely young team, but we're certainly going to mix it up a little".
With a tough match against Arsenal away at the Emirates at the weekend looming, we're certain to see some regular starters rested for this match. The only known injury at the moment is Daniel Sturridge, which leaves Chelsea's only options up front as Fernando Torres, or wide-man Victor Moses, with promising youngster Patrick Bamford seemingly unlikely to feature.
All pre- and post-match discussion can be posted here, and predictions on the match's outcome can be
placed here.

I would like to see something like this:
Sturridge
Piazon Oscar Mosses
Lampard Romeu
Bertrand Terry Cahill Azp
Cech
Would like to see Blackman given his first start also.

I think Oscar would be rested but both Lampard and Terry would start
Azpilicueta & Moses could have their full debut like you pointed out Blue

Re: Chelsea vs Wolves - League Cup 3rd Round
I'm reluctant to post my own line-up due to both uncertainty over injury status as well as our not yet knowing how Robbie will use matches in this competition; whether he'll use it to give old/fringe players a run out, a la AVB, or use them to blood some of our promising youngsters, which would be my own preference. We'll know more after this first match.
As long as Romeu, Azpi, and Piazon play, though, I'll be happy. And if I want to be cheeky, I'll chuck Blackman into that list as well , although I suspect Robbie will go with Turnbull

Re: Chelsea vs Wolves - League Cup 3rd Round
After thinking it over a bit, this would be my line-up:
--------------------------Blackman--------------------------
----Azpilicueta-----Cahill------Terry-------Bertrand----
-----------------Romeu----------Lampard-----------------
---------Moses----------Piazón-------------Marin*-------
---------------------Sturridge*/Torres---------------------
* = dependent on injury status, of course
But as I said, I expect Robbie to go with Turnbull in goal. Bertrand will almost certainly start, and I think Romeu as well as Piazon will finally get their chances as well.

I have a feeling that Marin+ Azpi + Romeu will start. Oscar will be rested for sure and hopefully Piazon gets atleast 30 minutes.

It's at like 4:45 am for us right?
I would, I wanna see the younger guys play as RDM doesn't seem to have enough faith in them for the PL

Re: Chelsea vs Wolves - League Cup 3rd Round
Well that escalated quickly
Think Bertrand got an assist from Piazon
Also sounds like Romeu is playing quite well.
FFS I hate listening to audio matches
