Serious question guys.

With Arsenal selling Song and RVP like it was nothing do you think we should place a bid for Arteta?

I don't know how much Arteta would want to move here but he would certainly be attracted by our trophies.

If he was a few years younger i'd say yes but I'd much prefer a younger player like Sahin. That said he is better than MRLSH.

If we're playing 433 ideally we'd play a CM(Oscar, Lampard) a CDM(Mikel, Essien, Romeu) and a b2b(Ramires). I don't see the need for him, especially if McEachran stays.

Obviously 4231 is a bit different but we still have Mikel, Lampard, Essien and Romeu who will all need game time in the pivot.

Both are assuming we sell Raul and loan Joshie. I also doubt they'd let him go cheap to rivals.

He isn't needed in the 4-3-3 but I am not sure how often we will play that.

Mata needs to learn to defend first.

I don't believe it myself. If he's looking for a good defender to unseat Lescott, I hardly thing a, shall we say, work-in-progress like Luiz would be at the top of his list. Not to mention, if he did have £30m to spend on a defender, wouldn't he just put that money to LFC for Agger, considering the only thing said to have been holding up a deal was Pool's £24m or so valuation? Doesn't make any logical sense to me.

These things said, I still feel it's only a matter of time before he ends up at Barca. He would suit their style of play to a T. And frankly, if that opportunity ever does arise for him (as well as a substantial bid arriving on Mr. Gourlay's desk, of course Twisted Evil

) would any of us begrudge him that chance?

If it does wind up being true, you can just about bet the idiotic sector of the Chelsea fans will start with the "Bring Back Drogba" crap...not realising that half his legacy at the club will ultimately be the circumstances under which he left. His Chelsea career is in the past, and that's where it should stay.
