My post from the other thread:
Shoot to be next week.
A CM Punk shoot on Rock/Cena overshadowing him over the past year would be cool on the 1000th episode.
Shoot to be next week.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
What I've picked up tonight from RAW:
-Lita is still GOAT Diva
-HHH is going to bury Brock (c*nt)
-Brothers of Destruction was the best thing that happened to Masked Kane
-Daniel Bryan stole the show for me tonight
-The Rock is still the most entertaining superstar
-Cena is still a biotch
-Sexy GM in charge
-Damien Sandow's character is cemented after tonight
-CM Punk's heel turn is the best thing for everyone
-No Stone Cold (he was key for RAW in MNW)

Is WWE like UFC or is it that scripted stuff with the buff actors?
I don't really watch MMA I'm just interested.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
May I ask why it interests you then?
Like, let me explain.
I watch football matches knowing the results sometimes, it loses the excitement cause you already know the result, it's already been scripted- for all intents and purposes. But I still watch it cause I love the sport and I can focus in on some of the nit-picky details of a match, watching specific players etc, tactics, I love all of that stuff, and so I love watching games even when I know the results.
But with this WWE being scripted, it seems like, I've seen it before and I can't get excited with it. Not only that, but there really isn't that much to go into, it being scripted already and all.
I don't know, I'm not really a fan of MMA overall anyway, so that's probably my problem, I'll watch a little UFC here and there, but other than that, nothing. So I'm just a bit interested to ask someone who watches this WWE, what makes it appealing?

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
Well I've been watching it since I was a kid. Grew up being a massive fan. Of course somewhere along the line you end up knowing its scripted but its still unpredictable most of the times. Its also entertaining as well. The matches are good too but if I wanted a REAL fight I'd watch boxing - which I do. I watch it anyway mainly because of the entertainment factor.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
it is scripted but that doesn't mean what you think is gonna happen will happen all the time. It's no different then watching a TV show.
btw the only reason i still watch it because it was a fun thing to watch and do during my childhood, only time i watch is when the oldies come back

Ahh, I like that.
Thing is, I only watch shows that interest me, and this doesn't, which would explain my lack of interest towards it.
What gets me is that it's a sport (wrestling), but the outcome is predetermined, which I don't understand. I can't watch a sport unless I know two teams are going out there 100% to win (although I enjoy the teams that try to do it stylish, like Barca )
Can you call this a sport?
Thanks for the responses guys btw

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
Yes, you can call it a sport. After all, they are essentially working on their fitness levels every day - and not just in the ring. These athletes are physically putting their lives on the line. You can say whatever you want about the shows being scripted, but moves that can cause major harm are not in the book. In addition to this, mentally some of these athletes struggle for fitness to perform on the big stage - and it has a negative effect psychologically.

it's as much a sport as circus de soleil... both require intense fitness levels and both are shows.

It's not just wrestling either, the shows have storylines which makes it interesting.
