What will happen first?

So long story short some banter in pub all usual stuff, nothing malicious all the bog standard procedures (plastic arm chair fans won't know but it really doesn't matter). So basically my mate an Arsenal fan and a random Liverpool fan having jokes about top 4 and trophy, so the question is what is more likely to happen first?
Arsenal to win a trophy? Or Liverpool to make top 4?

Liverpool can't finish 4th first since Arsenal could win the Capital One Cup, the final for that is in like February, while the season finishes in May.
