Hater , I didn't see anything Boring in Pirlo's free kick
Nice free kick and then nothing else. They should have went out and fully attacked Croatia instead of that crap they pull every time they score first. 2006 they had a team designed to win ugly and it worked an props to them. This year they plain and simply suck!

In group Stage the most important thing is to survive the group , the rest can be done after.

Italy's main objective must be to win , forget about Spain-Cro
Just play with more strikers ( 1 more ) and bang some goals to Ireland . Spain should win Cro , their players will be motivated as they all want to stay in the line-up
Cro are not bad thg . Cro an Danemark

I thought they played the best attacking game in the tournament in 2006 against Germany. Did you actually watch the WC that year?

Spain-Croatia will be before the Italy match, so we'll know for surebefore the match starts. I don't think Spain-Croatia would aim for a 2-2, too risky, knowing that if one of them wins the other would be disqualified for sure.

Like I did not know that, you just discovered America congrats Columbus!!
So because I don't like Italy and I don't like their football you have to get all wound up? Watch and support who ever you like I don't care but your not going to convince me so don't waste your time!
I hope that the people defending Italy are Italians because if your a different nationality and supporting a team that is not your country, that's just retarded!

Honestly it would be disgraceful if Spain - Croatia were to do this. I could understand playing some of your second line, but then you run the risk of Croatia beating you. The objective of tournement is to win, if Spain collude and eliminate Italy it would only show that they percieve them as a major threat.
Sweden - Denmark were two mediocre teams, which is why I could see them teaming up. But Spain are the champions of europe and world. I just think its a bit different.
I don't feel Spain would need this, if anything they would be doing Croatia a favor by tieing.
Also, Spain would only meet Italy if Italy make it all the way to finals. Meaning they would most likely need to get by France/England/Sweden/Ukraine (whoever finishes first) and then most likely Germany.
On that note...Italy still have to beat Ireland, which I think is gonna be difficult since they have trouble finding the net right now.

hope spain and croatia do it, Buffon is a huge toolbag imo, expect him to rage even if the game ends up 2-2 without signs of being fixed

Have you ever thought Croatia could beat Spain? Croatia are capable of a upset. I think peeps are concentrating on Italy too much. Ireland could PTB like no tomorrow, Croatia could kick Spain's a** etc. A draw is very unlikely.

True, this discussion could be for nothing in the end, but its still a possibility.
I don't think we should take a win against Ireland as a given, they could easily shut us out if we don't play up to our potential. They've done it before.
As for the Spain-Croatia game, the Euro 2004 scenario is a possibility, But like Viepr said, Spain shouldn't be settling with Croatia to knock Italy out, it would be a cheap move, especially given that they're the current Euro and WC champions. Then again, Croatia is a pretty good team and should give Spain a run for their money. But for now we should just be focusing and preparing for our game, whatever happens elsewhere is out of our control.
PS- Trappatoni still waiting for an investigation for 2004.

2004
there is nothing to investigate from that other than it finished in a 2-2 draw which sent Italy home

Book makers felt differently. This site regards this as one of the cases of match-fixing.
"23.06.2004 Euro 2004 group match between Denmark and Sweden.
Both Scandinavian teams showed millions of TV viewers that even football of the highest European level can get involved in match-fixing. The situation in the group C before the last series of matches was as follows. Denmark and Sweden occupied the first places, and Italy, which played the last game with Bulgaria, for which the situation was obvious, occupied the third place.
Before the match it was clear that the result 2-2 would bring advantage to both Scandinavian teams, and the Italians would be left "overboard", regardless of the outcome of the match with Bulgaria. But the game ended with the score 2-2, and the odds for a draw before the game were equal to 1.90, which means that internet bookmakers were in favor of this result."

Re: Will Italy get 2004ed again ?
lol Sweden don't even care about betting, ive never seen people brag about betting in that country, donno about Denmark
I am not going to lie but towards the end none of the teams ran much and passed the ball between the CBs, but before that it was full on attacking.... any team who have an advantage towards an end of a game will not attack regardless of what fans/neutrals want, happens all the time in football
obviously Italy who do betting scandals all the time thought we were like them but no nothing was proven, both teams denied it and we moved on

There was no investigation, so of course nothing was proven. It had nothing to do with betting, it had to do with getting the result that would insure that both teas would progress. The betting angle is that the bookmakers believed that there would be a fix and set the odds accordingly.
Oh about Sweden and betting scandals:
"Svenska Spel was accused of presenting different odds to players with variable bankroll sizes. Essentially, punters with a professional betting status, high rollers, are forced to place wagers on worse odds than casual bettors. Offering two different sets of odds on the same bet is certainly not something an online sports bettor would expect to encounter from any legal standpoint.
According to accusers, Svenska Spel is using a player tracking system in an effort to flag professional bettors who log in to the online sports betting service. When one logs in, Svenska Spel allegedly changes its odds to prevent high rollers from making a hefty profit, thereby cutting the sportsbook’s own losses on well placed wagers."

Re: Will Italy get 2004ed again ?
Svenska spel is like BWIN, who cares what they do behind peoples backs
if there wouldve been a suspicious feeling of a fixed match, FiFa wouldve been right on it, obviously for those who watched the game from the first goal up until the last knows that the game contained many chances and we only scored towards the end of the game cant remember when it was think it was the 92nd or something
from BBC
it just goes to show Italy are complaining to a brick wall because they didnt go through
Total shots(shots on target): Denmark 16(6) vs Sweden 15(7)
Possession: Denmark 52% vs Sweden 48%
Corners won: Denmark 7 vs Sweden 9
Fouls committed: Denmark 16 vs Sweden 15
if that doesnt prove it was an attacking game i dont know what will, again only Italy are complaining and nobody took any notice because they obviously watched the game

And it was clear early on that no Scandanavian pact had been signed as Sweden and Denmark sought to attack.

Ummmm...yeaaa. Way to generalize on a whole country without backing up your point, number 1. Number 2, both teams denied it, well what else would they have done? Would they have said, "oh we had an agreement before the match so we could both go through!!". Don't think so.
