How highly do you rate Harry Redknapp
Well ignoring his occasional idiocy and the general feeling about Spurs on here , on a purely sporting level how would you rate Harry Redknapp as a manager, considering he did decently with Spurs , led them to fourth /fifth etc league cup final.. and also keeping his earlier jobs with POrtsmouth,Southampton and the like in mind ?

I think he is slightly above average. His anarchist style plus the fact his teams work so little means his Spurs could hardly defeat top level sides consistently.

Tactics:C
Does well enough to get by. His tactics seldom seem to hinder his personnel, but rarely beats teams based on the setup.
Maximizing Player Potential:B+
Has managed to get the best out of players other squads didn't want or thought were "past it." Successes include Bale, Modric, Parker, Ledley King, Louis Saha, etc.
Man-Management:A
Has a plethora of egos to deal with in his starting IX, but has rarely had significant problems. The Modric saga at the beginning of the last campaign was the largest. Even with the player stating he wanted to leave, 'Arry managed to keep him at the club and resettle him for a very good season.
Transfer Market:B-
Only a B-, because I feel like many of his moves have been short-sighted. HE's certainly landed a few high-caliber players, but they've been with a view to immediate impact as opposed to long-term club success. This hasn't been a problem until now. It will be interesting to see what happens to several of 'Arry's signings in several years as some age and others want Champion's League football.

If you have to ask, don't worry about it...

Re: How highly do you rate Harry Redknapp
Overrated
He has left a mess at every club he has gone so far, Southampton, West Ham, Portsmouth and hopefully Spurs next
His man management skills are bad, instead of selling or playing some his players he lets them rot. Kranjcar, Pavlyuchenko, Bentley, Bentley, Pienaar, Dos Santos...
Openly talks about his own players and players from other teams.
He may be good at getting the best out of his players, but only those who he likes, the rest don't get a chance.
The only high profile player he has ever gotten is VDV and Ade (on loan).
The rest have all been players he has tapped, or players from his former teams, Crouch, Defoe, Kranjcar, Kaboul or made their breakthrough season at lower end club, Palacios, Parker
Never Developed any good youth from the youth team
Tactics:C+
Majority of his 4 years he only had one tatics which was the 4-4-2. With a Tall (Crouch, Pavl) and Short Striker (Keane, Defoe)..
Maximizing Player Potential:B-
Got the best out of players like Modric, Bale but destroyed the potential of many others
Man-Management:C
Already Said enough
