Re: *Best in the World series* - Who is the best RW in the World and who is the best LW?
sure we do have a lot of possession but that doesnt change the fact that we do love to counter attack
and henry was more of an lf/lw for me at barca in 09.
umm , why would i want that? ronaldo is one of the best players in the world easy , i dont need an online poll to tell me that do i?
just think that he should figure in a discussion over lws since people dont use him for comparison when they are discussing forwards

you're spot on, CR7 is a winger @ Madrid, don't let goallegacy opinions convince u otherwise. Anybody u watch football with will never take u seriously if ever u start saying Cristiano is not a winger

Speaking firstly of hisPortuguese attacker, the former Chelsea, Inter and F.C. Porto manager remarked: "We try to find a position that is the most comfortable for Cristiano Ronaldo, and there is always the debate. Is he a forward? I don't think that he is. I think he is great when one-on-one against a rival. Is he a winger? No, because he is also a goalscorer and when you are a winger, how many goals do you score in a season, half a dozen? I think that he is the mixture of two things. He is in great shape and he's more mature now. He has everything."
You don't take Mou seriously? :vagi:

That guy is just not meant to be taken too seriously all the time; he called Lampard the best player in the world at some point! ..he's not wrong in what he says above but i don't think it must be taken too literally

Should Di Maria be considered a winger these days? (Not that he is the 'best')

No bias, but Bale is the best RW out there at the moment. At LW there is no contest

Re: *Best in the World series* - Who is the best RW in the World and who is the best LW?
I don't give two shits about those posts. Ronaldo is a winger. OK, he's not a traditional winger who hoofs it into the box. But guess what, there are different characteristics for different positions! its a new and interesting concept i know.
Heat maps show ronaldos on the wing 80% of the time... so uh, yeah, that argument didn't work either.
And even sport has said CR's team play has been great this term around, and sport is the number 2 CR hater (mamad is 1). so yeah, drop the whole "overall" play bullshit because its clear to anyone with eyeballs that he has good technique.
Just refuting anyones dumb arguments before theyre spoken.

Best LW in Europe is Ribery hands down. RW is up for grabs.

Re: *Best in the World series* - Who is the best RW in the World and who is the best LW?
CR's average position against Barca was basically next to Benzema He was more narrow than Iniesta ffs
And its the same every game, he's not a winger just stop it.
He's a forward the two are not the same, CR fanboys need to learn the difference.

But according to Giggity Ronaldo plays as a winger in 90% of the games
You can't argue rationally with fan boys. Mourinho didn't consider him a winger, neither does R9, but Giggity and the Ronaldo fan boys carry on insisting he is one, despite him being a striker in prettu much all the average positions of every game he has played. Fan boyism at it's finest.

Re: *Best in the World series* - Who is the best RW in the World and who is the best LW?
Ribéry can seldom be considered a winger considering he cuts in pre-dominantly, therefore is more towards in inside-forward. Same goes for Bale who on the right flank only cuts to his left making his way inside.
NOR is Cristiano.
Best LW: Marco Reus. Actually can be considered a Left Winger.
Best RW is Jakub Blaszczykowski without a shred of a doubt.

Completely disagree. Anyone that watches Bayern games regularly would know that Ribery hugs the touchine. Hell in some games he doesn't even get into the box. Alaba usually cuts in to have a shot. Reus is more of an IF. Heat maps can confirm what I am saying. In some games Ribery's average position has been that of a left wingback. When he gest into the box its usually to cross and not to finish up moves. Same thing as last season, when Kroos was injured he drooped deep to be Bayerns creative hub from deep. He allows Alaba to bomb forward while he keeps his defensive responsibility. Reus is more of an iniside winger. Especially considering Reus is right footed and when he plays on the left wing in some games, he cuts inside still rather than going on the outside to cross.
100% disagree with you there.

Disagree on Reus. Given the German is two-footed and is in proximity on the touch line, he crosses often with his left and very adeptly.
You're right about Ribéry actually. I didn't consider his overlap with Alaba and his creation of width when he intensely tracks back so in essence, he is a winger.

I still think that Reus is a winger, but you called Ribery and inside left when Reus cuts in far more often to combine with Lewandowski. I think they are both wingers, I was just pointing that out. Most of Reus goals involve him cutting inside so if anything he is more of an inside forward. Either way, they are both wingers, while Cristiano is not. Pretty obvious to anyone with any sort of tactical nous and is not blinded by ridiculous fan boyism...
