`Grimaldo (LB/LWB, 15) is already training with Barca B, but is still considered a Juvenil A Player (u-19)!

`Best Line-up IMO:

Mino

Montoya - Bartra - Muniesa - Planas

S.Roberto - JDS - Espinosa/Rafinha

Tello/Cuenca - Soriano - Deulofeu

So JDS is the DM now because of Romeu's departure?

We dont have any other up and coming DM's on the horizon?

Barcelona will before the end of the year start renewal talks with the agent of Barcelona B winger Gerard Deulofeu (17). B winger Deulofeu, who's followed by many clubs including Chelsea and Arsenal, has a contract until 2013 and a buyout clause of 3M.[mundo deportivo]

Segunda (Week 1): FC Barcelona B 0-2 Villarreal B

In their first official match of the season, FC Barcelona B faced Villarreal B, the other reserve side in the Second Division, and suffered a 0-2 loss after failing to take control of the match in the first half. Goals in the 35th and 48th minute sealed the win for the ‘Yellow Submarine’ reserves, while an improved performance from the Catalan side in the second half proved to be too late for a blaugrana comeback. More details from the match and Eusebio’s post-match comments can be found after the jump.

FC Barcelona B: Rubén Miño; Montoya, Sergi Gómez, Armando, Planas; Sergi Roberto, Riverola, Carmona (Espinosa, 84′), Lobato (Tello, 52′), Rodri and Kiko Femenía (Deulofeu, 74′)

Bench: Masip, Oriol Rosell, Ivan Balliu, Gutavo, Espinosa, Tello, Deulofeu

Villarreal B: Jorge, Kiko Olivas, Marcos Guillón, Airam, Castellani (Dutra, 71′), Jaume, Mano, Kike (Iriome, 68′), Lucas (Chiqui, 80′), Dorian, Llorente

Goals: 0-1 Airam (35’), 0-2 Porcar (48’)

Cards for Barça: Armando, Planas, Carmona

Match report (translated from Barça’s official site):

Barça B began their League campaign with a loss in a match where they deserved a lot more. Villarreal B, very effective, gained the three points at the Mini Estadi. Xavi, Busquets, Guardiola and ‘Zubi’ watched the game from the stands.

The reserves of Eusebio Sacristán didn’t start on a good footing in the League of the Second Division. In spite of numerous chances and control of the match, especially in the second half, Barça B was not able to get the better of Villarreal’s defense, very forceful and without any cracks. With 0-2 on the scoreboard, Cristian Tello missed a penalty that could have brought Eusebio’s team back into the game.

The beginning of the match for Barça B was not as expected. Villarreal B, led by former international goalkeeper José Francisco Molina, took control of the match and disconcerted the blaugrana, who only created play at isolated points through Carlos Carmona and Kiko Femenía.

The ‘yellows’, with Castellani and Lucas Porcar creating danger, were superior and enjoyed the better chances during the first half. For the home side, only Rodri had many good chances, but in many of them the referee has indicated the player was offside. And in the 35th minute, the first goal arrived for Villarreal B. Airam, after receiving a great cross from the right, finished off the move in front of Miño. With 0-1 on the scoreboard, half time arrived.

Despite the 48th minute goal from Lucas Porcar, making it the final scoreline of 0-2, the reserves dominated the second half. Through the work of Sergi Roberto, Tello – who came on as a substitute for Lobato – and Femenía, the blaugrana improved and gained in intensity. The chances arrived, but lacked definitive aim. Nevertheless, Eusebio’s squad did not lack persistence and tried all possible ways to make a breakthrough.

In minute 73 of the match, Cristian Tello was awarded a penalty that could have changed the course of the game. Tello opted to take the penalty, and his shot, very strong, had gone over after hitting the crossbar. When the reserves deserved more from the match, with chances, play and ambition, good fortune didn’t accompany them.

Minutes after the penalty, and with the entrance of Gerard Deulofeu, Barça increased their intensity and Montoya, arriving from the wing, had a great opportunity at point-blank range that keeper Jorge, very successfully, diverted.

At 91 minutes, Planas had another great chance to reduce the scoreline difference but the post prevented the blaugrana from earning a deserved goal.

Eusebio: “We have to improve”

The defeat this Saturday to Villarreal B (0-2) in the first match of the Liga Adelante doesn’t worry Barça B coach Eusebio, who despite being disappointed is optimistic and looking toward the rest of the season.

Eusebio Sacristan was critical of the image offered by his team. “We complicated things in the match in the first half, I think we lacked calmness and solidity,” he reflected. Despite Villarreal controlling the play and starting the second half with a two goal lead, the blaugrana team had more chances and created more danger for the goal defended by Jorge. “In the second half the team was better, the game was more even. With two goals against, the team did not falter and with certain chances the result could have been turned around,” commented the coach from Valladolid.

The defeat was not sufficient to bow the head of Eusebio, who was very pleased with the project: “It’s a diffiult and evenly matched division, but I am very excited,” he explained. The manager of Barça B is confident in his squad and believes that his team has enough quality to do well in the league. “At the moment we have a solid team with a good balance that can improve a lot, because we have the conditions to create problems for our rivals,” said Eusebio, who on Saturday was without Dos Santos, Cuenca, Oier and Bartra, who were called to the first team for the European Super Cup.

That run by Grimaldo for the 3rd goal was boss, the kid is incredibly mature.

Deulofeu's finishing still leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. He regularly tries the sort of shot he did there.
