Re: Your team's starting XI next season.
On serious note he is Madrid quality..He would give something which Khedira hasnt been all this while ,that is provide a threat going forward.I suppose he's used to one touch passing counter attacking football at Benfica and he looks like a very good player on the ball as well.I think you should go for him.
Witsel to Madrid !!...20 m + some of your scrubs or youth players.

As soon as people compared him to Ramires I started to like the idea beacuse he seems to have skill and a Brain.
@Supermag:
Marcelo will encounter the same problems as Di Maria on the RW and he won't defend any more.
I think you have the wrong Idea about Ramos, I think he can sit just in front (or preferably behind ) the defense like a Libero more readily than he can enter a pivot.
Pepe would more readily suit that destroyer DM type role you have there, he would be one of the best at it as well once he can keep his head up and pass to the nearest man in sight.
I have a feeling marcelo wont, he dribbling style is quite different, i already saw him once make a run from right, and he has a decent right foot too. Marcelo also knows how to defend compared to maria.
Pepe as a DM is a waste, he has horrible technique ball control, he is a bad passer, will loft everything when he comes under pressure, he might have played more as a DM, but he other then his defensive powers, he has nothing.
Ramos on the other hand is a pure BTB stopper type of player, the type of player we lack, he is quick, agile and fast, he is great tackler, defender, good positionining, good technique, good long passer (alonso type), he will be more dangerious in attack too since he can dribble better then khedira and has better control. Ramos will a combination of maschrano, khedira and alonso, an All action midfeilder that will domintate us games against top sides.
There are good amount of great CB's out there, but there arent many great BTB CM. there is vidal, yaya, other then these two, i donno anyone else.

Re: Your team's starting XI next season.
I think you rate Ramos higher than me, something I didn't think humanly possible considering I think he's the most important player on the team.
Ramos is rash, he'll try silly shit and if you put him in midfield he will try to be a striker.
I can't find you a new Matthaus, but I can tell you it's not Ramos.

We i know ramos is rash, aggresive and passonate, more the reasons i want him about the backline to stop everyone before they reach the backline, right now, the opposition just skips past our midfeild like its nothing, its pathetic.
I know ramos will try silly stuff, but mou is there. Basically what i expect from Ramos is be a classic box to box defensive midfeilder, a role khedira is playing, but the thing is khadera is very limited, he is slow and has bad technique and doesnt pass longer then 5meters. Ramos will do everything. He will be less sucsesfull at first, but he will learn, and within the midway of the season, he will be great.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Kick wrote:going to persist with Downing?
wouldn't you be better off with two new wingers?
Not necessarily although i think Downing needs to GTFO and Gerrard needs to play closer to Carroll as he's a bit meh as a CM......Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Moutinho Lucas
Gerrard
Suarez Carroll Vargas
That will do for me...
Liverpool's problem has always been strength in depth, they need more quality depth players

I dont want Bastos unless he is available for cheap..Armero would be a much better option than him imo..
I like your second lineup the best though..Although dream would be Cavani instead of Dzeko..
Dont want Napoli to qualify for CL now..Yes i am getting greedy !

Re: Your team's starting XI next season.
Realistic team :
De Gea
Rafael - Evans - Vidic - Criscito
Valencia - Carrick - Sneijder - Young
- Rooney
Welbeck
Criscito is realistic in the sense that if United make a bid for him, he'll probably consider moving from Zenit.
Dream team :
De Gea
Rafael - Vidic - Hummels - Criscito
Cleverley - Carrick - Modric
Welbeck - Rooney - Hazard
A switch from the traditional "soon to be ineffective" 4-4-2 to a Striker-less 4-6-0 used by AS Roma under Spaletti with Rooney dropping deep while Hazard and Welbeck cuts in from their respective wings. This will take fluidity to the next level with the front 5 Cleverley, Modric, Welbeck,Hazard and Rooney all able to switch positions at will. Rafael will be given the freedom to bomb forward while Carrick will join the remaining back 3 to form the strong defensive backbone.
It's the dream team. Doesn't have to be realistic.
