Chelsea joins forces with Sauber F1team.
A new partnership is formed.
Interesting, seems to me like very clever advertising.

The Premier League and Formula 1 are the most watched sports around the globe and with 20 F1 races in 2012 spread right across the world, the excitement of F1 is set to reach almost half of the planet's population, ensuring Chelsea's exposure to many more than the already record worldwide numbers tuning in to watch Premier League action

I'm fast just like a BMW Sauber
I don't know if we made any money from this but it is certainly looking to bring more fans in, too bad this deal wasn't done earlier in the F1 season.

true it might be a mutual exchange thing ie you promote us and we'll promote you but still the added exposure will deffinately generate extra revenue and if it cost nothing to implement then that makes it relatively risk free

Yes, it is a win win as I see it, I am not sure how we will advertise them, maybe at Stamford Bridge.

This seems like a nice deal. But i assume most F1 watchers will already know about football and Chelsea. But, more exposure is always good.

They probably do but this will increase the chances of them supporting us. Just like an Advert.

could be on the pitchside boards or it could go up on the stadium screen before the game when they announce the teams sponsors

this is good deal for chelsea, even though sauber is one of the smaller F1 teams the exposure will be good.
the advertisement will be on the car or the drivers jumpsuit.
theres no billboards or anything like that in F1.
Dammm now this thread has got me hanging for the spanish grand prix to come round already !!!

Too bad they chose a team which is a shadow of their formerselves along with Peter Sauber going near senile.

Re: Chelsea joins forces with Sauber F1team.
even if it is a poor team as long as it doesn't cost us much (I cannot see why it would) it is a win win.
obviously Ferrari or Mclaren would be better but that could well end up costing us too much money.
I do not understand your sarcasm, could you please explain how it is not a good move?

So the Premier League is a sport all by itself now?

Don't mind me, I just feel Chelsea could have chosen a team thats not going downhill. But its harder than it looks
Nonetheless from a technical marketing point of view its a great idea.
And there will be benefits even if they are intangible.
