the barca youth system is a modern phenomenon, its not like hes pissing on decades of success

one thing's certain though, they're gonna have to adjust their business model... they're making massive losses as it is, imagine the added cost of hundreds of million for transfers if they didn't have xavi, iniesta or messi

no. you had the odd great player come through but that was on par with every other top club, the youth system wasnt anything special. the 90s team relied on more dutch, brazilians and signing more than built on a youth setup.

The logic here is, 06 youth players were not yet on the level of 09-12 and therefore we were nothing.

no, the logic is that the barca system was no different from any other big club youth system until messi, iniesta, piqué et all stepped up. The youth system was not a big factor to the 06 success, he'll, wasn't xavi injury hit that year? History doesn't have to be rewritten here...

To be fair, Barcelona had Guillerme Amor, Sergi and Guardiola as main stays in their squad in the 90's if I recall...

I see two extremes here...
Of course it is a miracle for us to hope that la Massia will produce so many 1st squad players at the levels of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi Pique etc... on the other hand this doesn't need to happen to know that la massia is one of the most well organized, and properly operating academies out there. to say it is nothing special is utter crap no matter if it will produce another golden generation like this one

If you mean that our 3 biggest star wasn't from la masia, then you are right and you would be right aswell if you are saying that it didn't play as big part as it is doing now, but if you are saying that it didn't play a big part to our succes then you are wrong.

Just in the CL final, 4(5 if you count fabregas) players from the youth team played and it would have been more if it wasn't that they were either injured(Xavi) or just coming back from injury(Messi)

And, as I said before, you are right if you said that it wasn't as important as it is today, but it wasn't like we didn't have any youth product either. We have had players like Guardiola, Amor, Sergi and de la Peña etc..

And tbh, La Masia seems to have a brilliant future ahead of it...

Every youth system is different to everyone elses, so your already wrong. In ours, we dont teach what you teach, it isnt organised the same and so on.

But if your saying, not untill the 3 best players in world became that then the youth system wasnt as important to the current teams success than yes..but so what?

Noone is rewriting history other than the Brazilian whos says it was "nothing" and we won "nothing".
