Re: Rooney vs Van Persie
RVP's hair's just greying
Rooney needed to transplant hair off his arse to the top of his egg
RVP>>>Rooney
Go on, test my logic

Proper close and tough I'd say RVP takes this one just.

Re: Rooney vs Van Persie
Am I stupid or something? How in God's name is rvp winning this. If someone argued Rooney was the best player in the world, I'd respect their opinion, if someone argued rvp was the best in the world I'd call them a lunatic. Rooney's playmaking, work rate, heading, scoring, free kicks, is nearly unmatched. He's not a CL flop either. If you wanna go ahead and say Rooney is a NT flop, that's fine, but look at Messi and even Ronaldo in big matches. You would then have to argue rvp is better than all three of them.

Re: Rooney vs Van Persie
Rooney with better playmaking abilities
Rooney the better passer
Also, since when are set-pieces limited to shots on goal? In terms of delivery into the box, RVP owns Rooney; it's not just about shots.
As for who is more vital....how can Rooney even get a vote?
Someone mentioned how we were challenging with RVP injured in the past few seasons...but then we had Fabregas (And Nasri last season, when RVP was injured), and if you haven't noticed, he isn't here any more. RVP has been the one who has carried the team for most of our matches. Without him, we'd have to play either Chamakh or Park while United still have Berbatov, Hernandez and Owen (oh, and Bebe too ). So who is more vital? RVP, definitely. While the United team can "grind out" wins without him, and have done so throughout the last season with this same squad (with less depth too, actually), Arsenal will have a much harder time trying to cope without RVP.

I voted Rooney on impulse. I prefer him as a player but RVP is more crucial for Arsenal

I am going with RVP. Rooney getting 250K a week WTF? and RVP is a better player when healthy.

I think Rooney is better than RVP in robbing the team for 250k a week.

Re: Rooney vs Van Persie
Almost five months later, has anyone's opinion changed?
I'd still take RVP. The only thing that's held him back are injuries. Rooney, on the other hand, goes through an annual dip in form for no apparent reason.
So yeah, still RVP for me. If anything, the last five months have justified my choice

Re: Rooney vs Van Persie
Throughout his career rooney has failed at being consistent. As soon as rvp stays injury free he has substained over a year of top form. Rooney is the guy that got outshone by emile heskey at world cup 2010
both very talented players though

You've chosen the worst time to do this
Expect an RVP win by a landslide.

Van Persie is the biggest traitor of football, I wish he turns out to be a bigger flop than Torres.
