Can arsenal win the league title next season?

Woolwich's "luck" will eventually run out and knowing the kind of bottlers that they are around this time, I can seeing them dropping points at Stoke and at home against the Duckies and Chavs. As much annoyed I am that we didn't win this game like we should have as we were clearly the better team. I'm confident we are going to turn the corner after this result. We're too good of a team to go on such a hideous slump. This isn't 2008 anymore.
some spurs fans never stop amazing meThere are no easy games in the EPL
...except playing the scum without RVP
LOL, they are shitting themselves, Chelsea will take 4th place from them.
How is that possible when Chelsea will finish 6th?

Re: Can arsenal win the league next season?
Wondering how things change so fast.. We were discussing about the impact of losing Championship football and how to sack Wenger... Now most of them are looking forward for a title challenge next season.. Cool.. Lets not jinx it.. The work is not yet completed..
And to say we will be in relegation without van Persie is nonsense.. Someone else would have stepped up and scored atleast 15-20 goals.. And we would have made it atleast to top 7.. But doubt whether we will have a leader like van Persie.. May be Verminator could have done the same..

If Fergie retires & Man Utd don't get the FA on their side then yeah maybe, if not then we all know where it's going.

Re: Can arsenal win the league next season?
Am i the only one who chuckles heartily at this thread? Win the league? With Plastic City and Refchester United at the helm? With us selling our best players year after year? With us failing to do something about the injuries we get EVERY SINGLE YEAR to key personnel?

Watch the year we are on our game the rest of EPL top teams will be on fire. Last year was the easiest year to win the EPL imo, even this year is not that hard.
If we keep the same players and no injures and buy one or 2 WC player we might win it.

This whole thread means nothing. It should only be revived in the summer after squads are finalized.

Anyone else think when Fergie retires we will really see how average half their squad is?

My boss dictionary translates this as 'Good point MJGunner, we are in agreement. I also like your post. I am trying to say something. You'll see mate - guys.'

Re: Can arsenal win the league next season?
No we are not going to win the title next season ( with the squad we got )
since 2007-2008 ( basically ) we have always needed 2-3 players to become TITLE contenteders . We lost flamini , cesc, arsha ,hleb , kolo... (yaya would have join him if he was there)
With this team + podolski we are going to reach that position again . But win the league take more than good players : experience ( ask man city ) + mentality. we have this one NOW but it is because we were on the brink intere alia.

Re: Can arsenal win the league next season?
If this squad is good enough to compete with Manchester City and United from October 3rd and on (Same amount of points between Arsenal and the Manchesters since October 3rd) then why wouldn't we be title contenders after a transfer window when we're sure to undergo an overhaul?

Re: Can arsenal win the league next season?
^^ The original post asked if the current team with only the addition of Podolski and the possible loss of RVP could be title contenders. The assumption was that there was no overhaul and without an overhaul is it possible sure. Is it likely in my opinion no.

This is premature if it's posted anytime before our squad is finalized.

Re: Can arsenal win the league next season?
Vermaelen is the vice-captain and if you go by precedent, then it's usually the vice-captain who takes it.
Besides, Vermaelen is the perfect choice. Only other candidates for it are Szczesny and maybe Arteta. The others seem a bit too introverted.
