They won the 2002 Champions League with a host of attacking talent like Figo, Zidane, Raul and Roberto Carlos. Going forward Madrid were brilliant, they attacked like bees. But it was when they lost possession and the opposition countered that tank called Makelele broke up atttacks single handedly with no fuss and he did it so calm it looked like he is on a sunday stroll. It is funny that Madrid fans did not see his real value and was the reason that Zizou and co can go party upfront so much

There was a general consensus among Madrid fans not agreeing with that transfer at the time. Unfortunately not everything Perez does is amazing. He is a great businessman and leader but isn't the best when it comes to actual football.

That being said he is a phenomenal president at the club, to the point where we are one of the most profitable teams in the world.

If only Makelele would have stayed..didn't agree with Del Bosque going either. I think Perez has been much better his second time around, giving full control to Mou.
