I'm happy we triggered his buy-out clause. It indicates we're still interested in him and probably are keeping a look out for him. He's a wonderful little player, he really is.

He had a buy-out clause at Molde, which only Man Utd could trigger. When Cardiff tried to buy him, we used his buy-out clause, but Daehli himself rejected us because he wanted to carry on developing with Solskjaer, he wanted first-team football. If we want him from Cardiff, there will be no release clause. If Solskjaer leaves Cardiff, you can bet your bottom dollar that Daehli will be leaving too

The Guardian wrote:United are at least addressing the issue. This newspaper's information is that deals have already been provisionally agreed for two players in what promises to be an extensive recruitment programme over the summer. The club have deliberately tried to set up transfers six months in advance. Joel Glazer has been more hands-on than many people might realise, speaking to the executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, three times a day on average from Florida and the club have been encouraged by the feedback from agents.

Manchester United to offer Phil Jones new contract
• Centre-back viewed as vital to David Moyes's rebuilding
• Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand set to leave United
Phil Jones is to be offered a new contract at United

Manchester United are to offer Phil Jones a new contract, with the defender's five-year deal having two years left this summer.
While United are yet to begin discussions with the 22-year-old there is no expectation of any particular stumbling blocks to Jones committing his future to the club.
Jones is viewed as essential to David Moyes's rebuilding project as the automatic choice at centre-back over the coming seasons. Nemanja Vidic will definitely leave this summer, Rio Ferdinand may follow and Chris Smalling has been disciplined by the manager this week for a late-night indiscretion.
Jones's ability to step into midfield to play an anchoring role is a further plus. Moyes has said that he sees "Jones settling in at centre-back and, in time, he will become a very good centre-back but I think, right now, he is a very good defensive midfield player which we might need in some games".
Jones signed in June 2011 in a £17m transfer from Blackburn Rovers and described joining United as a "once in a lifetime opportunity". Sir Alex Ferguson, had spotted his potential despite Jones having made his Premier League debut only that spring.
He is very talented, we need to stop playing him DM. Really hope we can get a DM in the summer, so Jones can flourish in his proper role.

k now theres this.
http://thepeoplesperson.com/2014/04/06/manchester-united-have-agreed-85000-a-week-deal-for-27m-luke-shaw-report/
its a no-brainer we will make a large bid for him. such is the situation we find ourselves in. So this news might be actually true.
So since the first part is kinda dealt with. Now lets pray chelski forget about the lad while launching a mega 60 m bid for costa and then the lad choose us.
This boyhood club thingy, i dont buy much. Its bollocks and its been proved a lot of times that things dont work that way.
yea still keeping hopes super low. lets see what unfolds.

Manchester United have agreed £85,000 a week deal for £27m Luke Shaw – report wrote:
Manchester United have agreed an £85,000 a week deal to bring Southampton‘s Luke Shaw to Old Trafford, pending contracts being signed, according to reports close to Southampton. wrote:
Reports of the wages come from both Andy Mitten and Red Issue and the £27 million fee was first reported back in January when the links between United and Shaw began to gather pace. wrote:
Securing Shaw before the World Cup would be the perfect way for Manchester United to start the summer transfer window and although £27 million is an astonishing fee for an 18-year-old, especially a left-back, it is more than a fair price given that Shaw could be our left back for over a decade. wrote:
Openly a Chelsea fan,Shaw would have his position in the first team guaranteed at United whereas he wouldn’t at Chelsea and that could have played into our hands. Stamford Bridge was always considered the more likely destination for Shaw were he to leave Southampton but these fresh reports suggest otherwise. wrote:
Chelsea would not have sold Juan Mata if they didn’t absolutely have to, regardless of whether he was Jose Mourinho‘s first choice player. They needed the money to help balance the books. Chelsea‘s prerogative this summer is at least one new striker and unless they decided to sell one of their biggest players once again to balance the spending again, they may not even be able to fund a bid for Shaw. wrote:

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I think Chelsea are trying to balance their books. That 45 million euros we paid for Mata is not a coincidence, 45 million euros is the FFP threshold. I think a striker and maybe a CM are more pressing issues for them.
We've got a good chance in getting Shaw, imo.

Forlan
Career advice: Forlan feels Suarez should move on
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been advised by Uruguay team-mate Diego Forlan to join Manchester United.
The Reds forward - who has 29 Premier League goals to his name so far this season - only signed a new contract at Anfield in the summer, but Forlan feels he would profit to a move to one of his former clubs.
"We spoke a few days ago," the veteran told Brazilian sports paper Lance!. "He asked me if I think he should stay at Liverpool.
"All I told him was to think about going to Manchester United. I know he loves Liverpool, the fans and the city, but I think the best thing for his career would be to move to Old Trafford."
Forlan, who penned an 18-month deal with Japanese side Cerezo Osaka in January, also paid tribute to Suarez, describing him as a dedicated, thoughtful professional.
"We've been friends and neighbours for a long time. Contrary to what many people think, Suarez is a polite person, someone who is always willing to learn. He wants to be the best at what he does. We're always in contact, through the good times and the bad."

Carvalho seems like a pure breaker, but we need a bit of an all rounder to play in our midfield, I need to see more of him tbh. He seems highly rated. He's going to the World Cup so we get to see him more.

Yep, Dortmund even made a public statement that they made it up lol.
I don't know if the Götze one is made up, but I'd STRONGLY suspect it
But the Mirror is going at it anyway, after they were denied accreditation for the game in München due to the the 'You pig' headline with Schweinsteiger, they had an article claiming Kroos went and told his teammates in the dressing room that he 'wants to play for Utd'.. .. you know, between our two games

lmao, the Kroos rumours have gotten out of hand. First, it was 'Man Utd admit it will be hard to get him' a few days later it's 'we have offered him a £260,000 p/w contract' Jamie Jackson has to be one of the worst journos working for a top newspaper

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
From Di Marzio
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/man-united-psg-join-real-madrid-and-roma-in-race-for-iturbe/
Man United & PSG join Real Madrid and Roma in race for Iturbe
Where will Iturbe go? It’s becoming one of the recurring questions of the spring to Verona’s delight. Last summer Verona acquired Iturbe on loan from Porto with an option to buy him for 15 million euro, they are ready to cut the check for that amount, before turning around and selling him for a higher figure. Many teams are lining up to purchase him, the most recent ones to speak to the Argentines growing entourage were PSG (through Triuzi, Cavani’s agent) and Manchester United (who contacted Moscardi, the man who will decide Iturbe’s future). But they maybe too late.
In fact, Roma and Real Madrid are ahead in the race and they don’t plan on losing their lead. Roma sporting director Sabatini has seen Moscardi in Rome in recent days, he often talks to his counterpart at Verona Sean Sogliano, but he has yet to make the right offer: Sabatini wants to insert some players in the deal to reach the 22/23 million valuation, but Verona only wants cash.
This is why Sogliano, whom Milan is pursuing to replace Braida, was in Madrid, this was the reason he skipped the event in Desenzano. The negotiation with Real Madrid is progressing well, some time will be needed since the club’s current engagements with Ancelotti have a priority, but there are the conditions to reach a deal. But Roma isn’t giving up and it will be an intriguing situation, especially if United and PSG decide to intensify their interest. Soon enough we may be able to answer the question of “Where is Iturbe going?”

Iturbe for what?
I think United is okay in that role . Then I rate Iturbe still unripe, probably excessive hype on him . United should put it on midifielder , and if Van Gaal will be next Manchester United coach the signings will be in that role I think (also because LVG doesn't appreciate South American players )

Nani I think will leave, Valencia has one year left on his contract and has not renewed his contract so maybe he's going too and Ashley Young needs to be sold his wages are too high 120k p/w
I agree we need to buy a midfielder, hopefully this year we buy one, 5 years since Hargreaves hasn't been replaced. I think we would have bought Strootman last year, if SAF didn't retire, the interest seemed high.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
yes in Italy most ppl was surprised to see Strootman to Roma why all thought he would be joined to Manchester United . Probably many underrated Moyes.
I reasoned on priorities also because ,for example, imho Januzaj will become a better player than Iturbe. Priorites precisely because of course Iturbe would not be a bad signing and if it is true that three players go away the thing is a bit different. Anyway it seems strange to me there is this international battle for Iturbe with even the Real Madrid tbh

I hope Januzaj becomes more of a starter next season too, this season he's not physically ready. Rodgers did the same with Sterling last season, he rested him quite a bit, second season he got more games.
I agree Iturbe interest is strange, I don't think we'll get him. I would like to get a back-up winger though, like Ben-Arfa, but he doesn't even start for Newcastle anymore

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Danny Welbeck considering his future at Manchester United
Danny Welbeck is considering his future at Manchester United after becoming dismayed at his lack of opportunity as a striker under David Moyes and unsure of his relationship with the manager.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are two clubs interested in signing Welbeck whose pedigree as a Premier League winner and established international make him an attractive target in the close season.
Welbeck is aware of the interest and is weighing up his options as he is intent on ensuring his career does not stall under Moyes.
Welbeck will have two years left on his current contract in the summer, the usual juncture when fresh terms would be offered to him. Now the 23-year-old, who currently earns around £70,000 a-week, may decide against signing on once more.
Welbeck has scored 10 times in 32 appearances for the club during the campaign and is frustrated at his limited chances as a forward, with Moyes often playing him in a wide position.
Moyes has caused bemusement on occasion during what has been an unsuccessful first season in charge. In mid-December, Moyes claimed that he had been forced to instruct Welbeck to stay behind for extra training, telling him to follow Wayne Rooney's example.
The Scot said: "I've got to say we had a word with him about a month ago and we said that he needs to be the last off the training field. Wayne's out there practising his finishing each day, whether it's taking free-kicks, shooting from tight angles or bending them in, whatever it may be, Wayne's practising. I said: 'Danny, you need to be out there every day finishing, even if it's 15 minutes at the end.'"
Welbeck questioned Moyes's claim, saying a few days later: "I have been doing that ever since I have been at United. Obviously I have been injured this season so maybe the manager has not seen me on the training pitch as much."
Last week Moyes disciplined Welbeck, along with Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young, for a night out in Manchester following the Champions League exit to Bayern Munich.
While United had no game for 10 days before Sunday's trip to Everton and the manager had given his squad three days off, Cleverley, Welbeck and Young are thought to have contravened stipulations that they should not be out late within 48 hours of the tie.
Moyes's decision was not received well, and if Welbeck was to leave it would be a significant blow to the manager's hopes of restoring United to serious title challengers next season. Welbeck is a lifelong United fan, who is from the city, and his unhappiness signals further disgruntlement within the squad.
In January The Guardian reported that some senior players were uncertain of Moyes's credentials and with United well outside a Champions League berth the questions remain.
Nemanja Vidic, the captain, has already announced he will depart in the summer with the futures of Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra also in the balance.
Javier Hernández, Shinji Kagawa, Darren Fletcher, Nani, Young, Cleverley, Alexander Büttner and Ryan Giggs are other members of Moyes's squad whose futures are also in doubt.
I've seen this about Welbeck in a few of the other papers too. Probably the last player that would want to leave, looks like he's fed up with Moyes. I really don't like Moyes.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
FFS if this is true:facepalm: He may not be a prolific or reliable striker, but he offers us rare qualities that this team needs.
-Genuine passion for the club as he is a childhood fan.
- Burst of pace and hold up play is a + to zombie like pace in the squad.
- Bags of energy and is hard working.
- Is young with more room to improve.
This clown in charge has the potential of gutting our core of decent/quality players in favour of the likes of Young/cleverley and Valencia. All because his vision is distorted.
Welbeck frustrates the heck outta me most times, I'm not gonna lie. But I will be livid if we decide to sell him.
